Layonara Online

Hi all,

I would like to advertise the server I'm on.

I currently play Layonara online. It's a role playing server based in a low magic world. The quality of the modules are very good. There's player housing you can buy, set up your own shop, guild, pub etc. Crafting is excellent, you can craft almost anything in the world from simple healing potions to epic armour and weapons. The world itself can be challenging and slow to level but there's real enjoyment in overcoming a dungeon with a group of people and collecting craftable resources to sell along the way. There are both DM and player events and the community is very supportive. There are custom summons (like a flying book that can cast magic missle) and custom armour so you can customise the way your character looks.

The popularity has dwindled over the years, which is a shame considering it's a very good server, so hopefully this will boost popularity!

I'm hoping to find some UK players to join me to help with my crafting and dungeon exploration. You have to write a short bio before you character is approved and then you can join the world. Message me here or I'm Eddlian on the layonara forums if you would like to know more.

Hey I used to play Layo back in 2006-2007. It was the most fun I've ever had gaming. I checked it again in 09 but numbers had dwindled dramatically. I've just busted out the old NWN diamond edition and I think it is my favourite ever series of games. I'm really keen to start playing again but having a bit of trouble getting everything sorted (CD key from GOG, figuring out how to install the haks). I'm planning on a cleric of some sort at the moment. I remember that the single player options are not particularly catered for. Is this still the case? Low numbers would make this quite a limiting prospect. I loved the rich RP aspect of the world as opposed to the soulless, level chasing, power gaming, plastic lameness of MMOs. I made a new post in the introduce yourself forum. I need a little help getting in if anyone has the time and patience.

Regards,

Eltalstro

Update: Been playing again for two weeks now and the RP is great. The world has over 1400 areas and it is very challenging. It is possible to solo but RP opportunities are regular and make for the most fun. The craft system is deep and broad. Check it out: http://layonara.com/
