               an update to those of you having issues logging in due to too many feats or not being able to level in game.

Doogieboy identified the issue as being a incompatibility with the HAK and prc updates.

To work around this: when building your character at level 0, you cannot choose the feats: martial weapon proficiency (if you get this for free, that is fine), skill focus, and perhaps exotic weapon proficiency. Skills no ride or parry. Spells: no resistance or protection from evil.

You can choose all these at level 2 in the game.

Hello,

Old Natfka player here.  Just wondering if the server was up and running.  If so I was hoping to get a look at it over the weekend, though I hear it is still having some trouble with leveling.  I've attempted to connect but it keeps failing, so I thought it might simply not be up, I do not know how to check really and have not had NWN installed in at least a year so I am hoping it is all configured correctly (I followed the instructions in one of the previous posts).

               Hi zakoam, I fixed the leveling issues, and players have been on all weekend. What issue are you having? You'll have to use the direct connect option and enter in the IP address to get on.

Well, I am tinkering with this a little whenever I have some spare time and just trying different things and adjustments, but I admit these sorts of things are not my strong suit.

 

If anyone has any ideas:  I can find Natfka via Direct Connect.  I was even able to make a character.  When I try to log in, however, I get a black screen with the title music continuing to play and after about 2 minutes it tells me that the connection could not be made and it timed out.

 

I tried running a normal game on NWN, the base game so I know the game itself runs fine.

 

I tried connecting to another random server and found it and when trying to connect it told me I was missing their custom .tlk file, which has never happened when trying to connect to Natfka, so I am still assuming I have all of the custom .haks and .tlks correct.

 

Any ideas for what to try next?

               I have a few suggestions: 1. Have you emailed me for the tlk and HAK files? Have I added you to the share list? You might be missing one.

2. Try different settings on the configuration page.

3. If u click the update, does it says are fully updated?

               Hey guys, Im almost done with the epic spell issue. Everyone should be able to learn epic spells at any location now.

Second, m16a2 is working on hosting a website for Natfka. This will have all the tlk and HAK files needed so u won't need to email me. It will also have a way to post for teaming up with people for runs. This becomes nicer when people are trying to go to the ice plain, fireguard, spider dens, etc.

I'm going to set up some more caravans for people, and I'm still working on the subraces. Priorities I suppose.

A few of the areas are tweaked: goblins, spiders, and the dragonmere coast now give a little better xp with less respawn time. I also added an easy golem to help with gold issues in the goblin caves.

Yeah, among other things they basically seem to be including CEP, the PRC, and overrides for the PRC.  Plus a lot of models/tiles of their own.  I suppose they figure that it makes it a "one stop" file for people to download rather than having to find half a dozen different downloads.

Icywind, I wil talk to Mark and see what we can do about breaking out the downloads and seperating the PRC, CEP and HAK's. I know that he has his hands full getting the server back up as NWN is a pain to run as a server and there may be a limit on the size of downloads that can be stored on the website. I do agree that it is a huge file and would be nice to have it broken down for ease of download.

 

I also have a couple ideas to make the website more useful to all players. I am currently looking for a detailed map of the area that Cormyrean Prophecies encompasses to scan and load to the website. Ideally the map would include some of the areas that are popular and the the main attractions (Haunted Halls, Ruins of Ponar, Regnars Lair, Maze of Madness, Mages Keep, Fire Giant's Castle and the Enterance to the Underdark). Maybe even some of the Special Monsters like Wolf and Devistation Spiders, Harpies, "The Widow", etc. and helpful hints for newbies on how to find, fight and defeat the beasties.

 

I am currently working on slimming down Suzail as it is causing alot of bloat on the server. Ideally I will be able to shrink it down to 2 areas and move some of the shops to the Market Area. Once that is complete, I will work on building more areas so that you can delve deeper and go on longer runs and go through the over 500 rarely used areas and try to make them more useful and not just "run through" locations. CP is a huge world with over 750 areas to explore and with some work they will all be areas that you will want to spend time in...
