"Hello and welcome to the World of Val'iel, a setting which aims to grasp at strings otherwise left to fray by the Neverwinter Nights Community. Val'iel combines a mixture of unique setting points, blending them together in what we hope is an interesting and fun to play environment. While playing here, you'll find elements from Steampunk settings (Guns and Firearms, Mechanical craftables, such as extendo arms, spring boots and similar, along with the highs of fashion you might expect from a steampunk game), along with your favourite elements of the Fantasy genre (Magic, Goblins, War and Peace).
You'll find no shortage of lore about Valiel, and no question will go unanswered. We invite you to pry at our creative team, and even attempt to contribute to it in your own way! Want to come from a little known village somewhere in the regions of Karinos? Perfectly fine. Perhaps you're a druid of the howling woods that has somehow managed to prevail against the terrors of the night? Or even a wandering wizard from the remains of Rapture, desperately seeking a slice of a long lost fine mind - Everything is possible with some thought, creativity and communication.
Valiel is in no way related to Faerun or any other renowned setting, which might seem scary at first. There is a lot to take in, and a lot to learn, but don't let it put you off. Feel free to contact us with regards to starting a character, either in a forum post, or a PM, and we'll be happy to help you flesh something out while you're learning about the background lore. This process should be easy enough - we've gone to as much trouble as we possible can to make accessing information easy, and if you can't find something on the forums, it's likely to be on the wiki, and if you still can't find it, we'll add it!
Even a simple concept such as a wandering blacksmith or an apprentice enchanter can fit right in with the aid of our custom crafting systems, ranging from Enchantment of items, to creation of armour and weapons, with much more planned in the upcoming pipeline!
Currently, we have a few boxes to tick before we are ready to launch. We're looking for help to speed this process up, so if you're interested in kick starting out creation and becoming a part of the creative team, please contact me for further information.

The Valiel Team are a cluster of some "oldies" from the neverwinter days who wanted a server with more gritt and less mary sues with every known power, where the new guy was to low to help.
In Val'iel a peasant is a peasant who lives a harsh and poor life, and no super mages walk the world to save it.
Demons do not flood in on a tri-weekly basis, and the problems in the world big or small are up to the players to solve, even the weak. In a world where the level 1's matter, everyone and anyone can leave a mark. For good, or ill.
