It made me chuckle because haks and, more generally, custom content, are really the only things that NWN has going for it in the year 2011. It's a decade-old game that didn't even look that good back when it was released, the only saving grace of which was the hugely user-friendly moddability and the ease with which people can make mini-MMOs (PWs, for roleplaying or action or whatever!).
Additionally, bandwidth and broadband internet are cheaper in 2011 than they've ever been (some countries offer broadband for free) so unless you're living in a country that gives you a download limit like Australia, you've got literally nothing to lose by downloading some haks, and even if you're downloading 4 gigs of them it should still only take 5 minutes of clicking and 30 minutes of surfing the net while you wait for the download, tops.
So I'm a little confused when I see the "I don't do haks" mentality here in 2011, for the above reasons. If you don't like haks, aren't there a million better games than base, unmodified, unhakked default NWN? (Rhetorical question, we don't need to derail Shadow's thread to have a discussion that's been had many times in the past.)
But basically yeah, Terrorble TLDR'd my point much better than I myself have. Downloading haks isn't a huge investment, for a place you might potentially enjoy.
