The World of Sinfar (For adults only)
« on: May 15, 2011, 06:44:13 am »

               Sinfar: A Social-RP Persistent World.

Sinfar is a vast social persistent world. The world is separated into many different islands. In the center of this archipelago, there's the island of Sinfar. While each island may have its own and strict setting, Sinfar is a mix of all of them so dont be surprise if, when you first enter Sinifer (The capital of Sinfar) you meet: a Demon, a Celestial, an Amazon or event an half-droid person, very close of each others, Sinfar is the place on the world to socialize and meet new people/characters.

The world of Sinfar has a particular variety of Islands. From a prehistoric reserve, to a Sci-Fi station, passing by Forgotten Realms based Islands. There's a place for all taste and there will always be new ones because of the structure of the module and an active builder team.
There's a strict set of rules and kept to the minimum, to ensure that you feel on the same world while travelling from one island to another and, if there's something that displease you, you can always find a place without it while staying on the same world and enjoying all the features that it has to offer.

This server has a lot of particularities and features that make it unique. The most evident trait is certainly the liberty that it offer for your roleplay. Granted that the server is rated for adults only, there's almost no rules on what you are allowed to roleplay. DMs aren't even allowed to put their nose in your non-public roleplay. I know that most social server are open in their roleplay, but this one is one level above.

With an open roleplay, the server need of course some roleplay tools. Well...
- There's enough clothing and other character customization options to give your a headache
- The emotes will simply make you fall of your chair (wheel or not).
- There's all items to help you deal with the emotes and customization options.

You can also get the possession that you need for your roleplay. This include pets, horses and houses.
If you are a builder and you have heart problems then i don't recommend you to get a house on Sinfar. For others, well it will make your heart pump. Its hard to explain all the power of this system here, but to here is the basic:
- You build your house in toolset with less limit that you would impose to yourself, for example, you are allowed to up to 300 placeables. You can use any scripts in this list (http://96.23.137.98:..._scriptlist.php) and propose new ones, You can add visual effects, any number of persistent chests...
- You upload your module here: http://tiny.cc/sinfar_houses
- You go back to your NWN window and boom, you will never have seen your module move from your toolset to your game as fast.

All original classes, feat and spells are allowed and have been adjusted an or improved to be balanced, There's new spells and special bonus for normally bad builds like two weapon users.

There's plenty of eyes candy (other than the sex player characters) areas to explore. Here are some screen shots:

While it appear to be only one area, the island is composed of 15 exterior areas. To appear to be only one area in game, we use "full transitions" on all borders:

Did I said that we use the best NWN1 custom content available? Here is another example: The Alternatives Combat Animation by Ragnarok. You are free on Sinfar, to use the combat stance that you want.

I've played on Sinfar for a good few months now, and I can honestly say that it is -the- best social server I've played on.

The level of personal customisation a player can put into the server is phenominal. While many servers might be able to offer you a house already built and furnished, others might need to to furnish themselves. With Sinfar you build it from the ground up; every room, every door, every placeable. And as Mav said, upload takes mere seconds and you can update and use instantly. The amount of placeables available is brilliant too; I've managed to build an entire house with the Drow Interior and the first room you come into is a garden, that looks nothing like the original interior!

Also, I think more needs to be said about the Active Combat Animations.
I've seen them in other servers before, but you've been stuck to using a single one, and it's applied to everyone on the server. Here at Sinfar you can pick and choose whichever one you want, whenever you want. A few of my favourites include the 'Demonblade' animation (for sword and shield), which makes your character too like an awesome oriental swordsman. In the screenshot above that one you'll see on the left hand side, the dark armoured Warrior being attacked by the Dual-Kukri woman. I so want to see that with a Samurai and a Katana/Shield.
Also the 'Arcane' Combat Animation, which makes your character float in the air while walking and in combat. Your weapons (and shield) will also float out by your side, as if they were a familiar or sentient weapon (still locked to your clickbox). Above, you'll see the two floating women, one centre and one to the right. The one centre (me!) is in an atacking pose, sending the sword down between Mav's leg (Silvery warrior, I so got you there Mav! XD) and the one on the right is a casting (Evoke) pose.

As a player on Sinfar I would also like to point out that this place is also -very- friendly. We have some opinionated people, but that makes things amusing sometimes. Insane and whacky talk in partychat (most of us usually link up into a party server, don't be suprised if you get an invite as soon as you log in :-) ).
There's also no limit to what you can Roleplay here. anything that takes your fancy will likely be allowed, and there is also custom 'Wildform' available to chatacters. These will allow you to change between your original look you created and any Leto appearance in our list at the click of a button or a typed command, and you change back just as easy. These things don't give you extra stats or points anywhere, but it does feel -damn- good when you're in a hunting party playing a Dragon character and you suddenly peel out your wildform. While this isn't necessary for all characters, it can be useful for those few that want do add a little extra to their RP.

There are a bunch of other fun things about this server, but I'll give someone else the chance to post here about them. Or, maybe, you could come and check them out for yourself.

Look forwards to RPing with ya '<img'>

I assume this is a cyber-sex focused server since it's on social.

Should I play a double-schlonged vampire furry or a winged half-demon with glowing eyes (who has both man and woman parts)? I logged on and saw a few of them so I just want to know how to fit in best.

Very rude. If you do not want to play there then do not.

Rude?? It was a genuine question. I do want to play there, that's why I asked

The target of the server is -not at all- to roleplay intimate relations.

The target of the server is to let you play the character that you want (human, elf but also demon, celestial or even a droid) and the way you want to play it.

@Svneati
The last thing to do on Sinfar is to copy others characters. The best way to start is with a generic human fighter character and then by exploring and meeting other characters, you may find something special that you would like to play.

Alternatively, Svneati, if you're intending to just cyber on Sinfar then just play something that suits -your- fetishes and not someone else's.
If you want to do standard RP, with or without intimate RP, then still play something -you- like.
The creation of characters is pretty open, so if you think you can play a 'double-schlonged vampire furry or a winged half-demon hermaphrodite with glowing eyes' the sure, go for it. '<img'>

I've created my own breed of Dragon before,,
I've also played an Alacorn (Unicorn/Pegasus mix race),
A Zombie with a soul,
A mute Celestial,
A full blooded Demon on the run from the Abyss,
I'm currently playing a Gothic Equinite Teifling with a thing for magic and experiments.

So yea, just go for what takes your fancy, as long as you can RP it good '<img'>

It wasn't rude; just factual. Players should know that if you wish play a standard race on this server, you are in the minority. I tried Sinfar, and it wasn't my thing. I walked into a shop and saw a dog character doing some astonishingly vulgar stuff with a half-dragon angel creature.

That say, I wouldn't say that Sinfar is particularly worse than Styss or Kinky Kingdom. Some of the areas are quite well-done, but there were far too many coherency errors for a Roleplayer like me to stay there.

My bad then as it came across as someone bombing on the place. If it was a true question then I withdraw my how rude comment and apologize.

Your post although -is- really misplaced... Sinfar is obviously not what you are looking for, no need to say twice that you wouln't not play on Sinfar.

But anyway, im happy that you posted it because it gives me a good reason to clarity certain things.

Quilver wrote...

I know that Sinfar and other social server are not for you, but it  doesn't mean that they aren't fun or bad. Let precise what is Sinfar (from my first post), what make Sinfar a "social" server.

As you would go on a roleplay server to play a character, on an action server to do Hack-n-Slash, on an arena challenge your character build, you go on Sinfar to meet other players.

Sinfar is rated for adults so you dont have to worry with what you say, A lot of people will address taboo subjects so you need to be open minded.

Now, as roleplay server generally let you do other things than roleplaying, Sinfar is also a place where you can do most of what this game offer.

The world of Sinfar is in character so you roleplay it. If you prefer to stay out of your character, there's always use tells or the party channels.
There's a lot of areas to explore where you can hunt or roleplay what you want. Sinfar has very few rules and keeping taboo things in private is not one of them. So while what you saw is partially possible (generally people dont do that in public),

Quilver wrote...
a half-dragon angel creature

I doubt that you saw a character of this "race".
Did she had angel or dragon wings? '' ... Seriously, characters on Sinfar are very original but generally not without any sens.

Quilver wrote...

You probably mean in the setting, because as you said it yourself (it must be important if you pointed it): "Some of the areas are quite well-done". I would like to add each area fit perfectly together (see the map on the first post of this thread). So there's place for a very intense roleplay. Although, it is certain that you cannot expect to stay immersed without knowing the setting or other players.

To enjoy a fully immersed roleplay on Sinfar, you have to plan it with other players. A character that lost is  not recommended (especially a female one), There's many Island where you character can come from and that are really on the world, find other players/characters that match you and that could have a link with your character, and plan how your character will deal with strangers, depending of how they look.

The world of Sinfar is in character so you roleplay it.

An interesting contradiction. I suppose Sinfar is both the best server to roleplay on, and also the best place to 'meet new players'?

If anything, I find that players in Social are even less tell-friendly than those in Role Play. Most people on Social view it as a place to have cyber sex. That's a reality, even if they have warped the original meaning of 'Social'. I am only speaking for the majority of players you will find in Social - They go there so that their characters can have sex - Not in order to meet new players.

Oh, and I guess, to clarify, Styss is better than Sinfar.

Also, you seem to dismiss any criticism of your server while contradicting yourself repeatedly. "Can't expect to stay immersed without knowing other players?" Er, no. One can easily immerse themselves in a fantasy world by RPing. There is no need to know the players behind the characters, on most high-quality RP servers.

Sinfar is not an RP server. Get over it. You seem to want it to be the best RP server, the best Social server and probably the best Hack n' Slash server too. It's not. You would gain more credit if you just portrayed your server accurately rather than trying to big-it-up the whole time. The first message players get on Sinfar is:

"Great!, Welcome on the fantastic world of Sinfar then. Here you will be able to play game as you ever wanted it to be..."

Right.

Best server? Anyway... there's a distinction here. Sinfar, the server is a concept where meeting players come first. The -world- of Sinfar is the part of it that is in character, there's also an OOC area, event areas a forum...

What's that sci-fi themed tileset you're using?  Is it something else from the Vault or a custom set you cooked up for your world?

Its the default castle interior tileset... heavily designed with placeables and some manual GFF changes... I can't myself explain how he made so much with so few, well I pointed the builder of those areas to this thread.

               Hi,

http://nwvault.ign.c....Detail&id=7933
That is the placeable hak we use on our server for most of the sci-fi stuff you see in the screenshots.

http://nwvault.ign.c....Detail&id=7501
I believe that is the hak we have for the Castle Interior tileset I used for the area displayed in the screenshots.

The area itself has been heavily tweaked using a GFFEditor program, to create a nice depth and height. The rest is simply a lot of work getting all the big gaps in scenery filled up and scripting to make all the glowing stuff.
