Legion of Darkstar: Sword Coast Adventures
« on: March 12, 2011, 01:26:36 pm »

               Hello everyone

We are the Legion of Darkstar server, and our module is Sword Coast Adventures.

We have been making changes with our server, and we are seeking some new players. We have had some changes with our building staff and dms. We have decided to switch from the roleplay section of Gamespy to PW Action. We still encourage people to roleplay, but we have always been more suited as an action server. We hope that you will come join us and help us become a better place to play.

Please come and give us a try. Most of our server rules are still listed as when we were a roleplay server. If you think that they are too restrictive, then feel free to post your opinions on our website. We will be willing to discuss any changes to try and get some new players here. We value everyone's opinion, and we want to make you all happy. I have posted the link to our forums at the bottom of this post.

Our server is based on the Sword Coast, but we have expanded to include much more of Faerun, as far east as the Moonsea region. Some of the new areas are still being built, but they will get done, as we continue to update the module on a regular basis. We also have an Underdark and the city of Menzoberanzan.

Our module is medium to high magic, with +10 weapons and armour being the maximum. We have a banking system, and a persistant chest too. We also have a forge in the city of Skullport, that will allow you to add a lot of nice things to your equipment. if you think it may be a little too much, then please let us know. Many of the nasty bosses here will quickly change your opinion. lol

On our server, we have dozens and dozens of quests for all level ranges. To make things easier, we have added an npc to list all the quests and level ranges needed for each one. Just speak to Jenny, who is located near where you start in Neverwinter. As more quests are made, they will be added to the list.

We are continuing production of our main quest, The Time of Dragons Has Returned.

For those of you who want to want to show everyone your character building skills, and really want a challenge, then this quest is for you.

Can you find and defeat all five of the nastiest dragons in Faerun?

Tchazzar: Master of the red dragons
Ingeloakastimizilian: Master of the white dragons
Casarial: Mistress of the black dragons
Abazigal: Master of the blue dragons
Chloracridara: Mistress of the green dragons

Once you finish with them, do battle with the one who commands them all:
The meanest nastiest creature in all of Faerun. Well, that one is a surprise. lol  'Posted

The quest starts with the new guard captain in Neverwinter City Core.

The quest will start at any level, but will quickly increase in difficulty, as it is made for level 40. This should give people more things to do for level 40 characters. This quest is for those of you like it tough. It includes many new bosses of different shapes and sizes, as well as the main dragon bosses.

The quest will take me awhile to finish, but it is now complete up to and including part 9. There are 15 parts altogether. The first dragon boss, Ingeloakastimizilian, was added with the last update, and is currently waiting for some new dragonslayers to munch on.. I'll add a bit more of the quest with each update until it's complete. Be sure to read carefully what the quest people say, and expect a few nasty surprises and other fun stuff along the way. I have included many varieties of bosses and some nasty puzzles for you to enjoy. I hope you all will enjoy the quest.

When the quest is finished, I have a special reward for those of you dragonslayers who slay the commander and complete the quest. You will gain access to a special shop which sells the best equipment on the server. It will really help you in the next pvp event, when you show up with your new dragonslayer armour or weapons. Your purse will be filled with gold to help you start your spending spree. Also I will build a new statue for everyone who completes the quest, and I will add it to the Hall of Dragonslayers. Everyone will see who are the best dragonslayers on the Sword Coast.

Many thanks to the nice people here in this forum, who helped me with some problems I have had along the way. A special thank you to ShaDoOoW for the custom ai script for a tree that I added. That tree is one of the many new bosses being added to the green dragon lair, which is currently under production.

My thanks go to you all. 'Posted

Please come and give our server a try. Everyone is welcome. 'Posted

We are Legion of Darkstar server, and Sword Coast Adventures is the module name.

We are now listed in PW Action, but we are more of an action server with roleplay as well.
You are free to play how you choose. You can roleplay, or you can just explore and hunt some nasties. You can also do some of the dozens and dozens of quests for all level ranges. More quests being added, as well as the new main quest. We also have a growing underdark, for those of you who love to play drow. Coming in the future will be a main quest for drow characters, or any other of you nasty evil villians. We are hoping to add Thay as well, but that will come some time in the future.

There are no rest restrictions here. You can rest as often as you want. No food or bedrolls either. We try to keep the module balanced for all classes. We have even added a magic shop with some nice toys for high level mages.

We hope to see some of you here.

Come visit our forums. legionofrhun.freeforums.org

We were once Legion of Rhun. Now we are Legion of Darkstar: Sword Coast Adventures.

Thank you.

First of all, I forgot to mention that our server uses cep 2.2. 'Posted

The server has also been upgraded with some new stuff.

Experience has been raised, so leveling should be quicker now.
The green dragon lair is complete, so another dragon boss, Chloracridara, awaits you.
She is wondering if you will be as tasty as the last dragonslayer that came along.

New stuff being worked on:

I have started on the blue dragon lair, which includes some new puzzles, and a new boss, Tacondra the four headed worm. Oh yes, and plenty of dragons too, as well as Abazigal the master of the blue dragons.

A new portal system will also be added to make traveling easier.

Please come give us a try. 'Posted

               The server has been updated.

The blue dragon lair is done. Abazigal is now waiting for some new dragon slayers to munch on.
8 new areas for you to explore. Lots of new nasties to fight.
Many new bosses to fight, including the sewer bug king, Tacondra the four headed worm, and of course Abazigal.
There is also a new optional boss, the Sai Mistress of Zarabek. She is quite tough, but defeat her, and all her equipment and weapons are yours. I'm sure you will like these items, but if not, they are quite valuable.
Of course you will need a good rogue just to get to her. lol

Another new creature is the sewer bug queen, who gives birth to her young upon death. After you slay the queen, up to 5 sewer bugs will spawn. More likely you will get 1 or 2, and less often 3, while 5 is rare.

New puzzles include, Tacondra the 4 headed worm, and the water room puzzle. Watch in horror as Tacondra's heads grow back after you slay them. There is a way to defeat him, but you'll have to figure that out. lol Since it's part of the dragon quest, Sarah will have a riddle to help you figure it out. As for the water room, you'll have to pump out the water from the room in order to open a couple doors. Seems the water preasure is keeping the doors shut. Unfortunately, you'll have to deal will someone turning off the power, and the pump breaking down as well. Eventually the water will get drained out, and will allow access to Abazigal's lair. You will notice the water level in the room going down after you solve each part of the puzzle.

A new portal system has been added as well. A dozen spires have been added to various locations around the realms. Each spire will give you a gem which when atcivated, will port you back to the spire from any location.

Some other minor things were done as well, such as fixing the floating objects in Crag Shire.

Please come give our server a try. New players are always welcome.

I would like to welcome the new players we have had lately.

Thank you for coming.'Posted

The server has been updated, and a new quest has been added.

The Great Northland Pirate Treasure Hunt.

Somewhere up north, the pirates have buried their treasure, and it is waiting for you to find it. Speak to the dwarven couple at the Snowy Grove Inn, and from there you will begin your search for the treasure. You'll have to be sneaky, and listen to the pirates for clues. You'll have to find the exact spot where the treasure is buried, and then you'll have to dig it up. If you're lucky, you'll find a chest full of goodies. If not, you'll have your hands full with pirates, and they are a nasty bunch. Fortunately, they are known more for their muscles than for their brains, as you'll soon find out. lol

The quest is meant for about level 15 and up, but there are dozens of other quests to help you get there. There is also the main quest, in which part 12 of 15 is currently being worked on, with more new puzzles and nasties for you to enjoy.
Enjoy the new quest, and don't forget to bring a shovel. You can't dig with that shiny sword of yours. lol  'Posted

A few more updates have been added to the server lately. Lots of new areas in the Anauroch Desert region. More new quests, bosses, and other nasties for you to enjoy. A few new items added to help you fight these nasties.

Oh, and part 12 of the main quest is complete. The black dragon lair. Some new puzzles and items for you to find, and some secret areas too. Of course Casarial is waiting for some new dragon slayers to munch on.

Some things to look forward to in future updates:

Many new areas being made in the Underdark region, including a new underwater area. Many thanks to Alex Warren and Mwplayer for helping me get the scripts working right. A thank you and a hug for you both. 'Posted

There will be new shops and more new quests as well. Oh, and also part 13 of the main quest, the red dragon lair.

We've had a few more players lately, but we would like to see some more.

Please come and join in the fun. Everyone is welcome.

Thank you.

More new updates have been added.

Part 13 of the main quest is complete, the red dragon lair. Tchazzar is waiting for his lunch, lol. Many new areas added to the Underdark region. More nasties to fight, and new items to help you fight them. Of course there are some new secrets and puzzles too, but I'm sure you knew that already, lol.

With all the dragon lairs complete, the quest now turns to the Abyss for part 14. The story will become more interesting as well. More new adventures await.

Please come give us a try. Everyone is welcome. 'Posted

I would like to welcome back our former builder, Butcher Dogblood. He has come back to be a player and dm. Expect to see some more dm interaction with players in the future.

We've had some new players join us lately, so a nice welcome to all our new players. Glad to have you, and I hope you like our server.

As for building news, part 14 of the main quest is nearly done, so expect some more nastiness coming soon, lol.

Please come join us! Everyone is welcome!

Just wanted to give you a heads up on a potential player base killer:

"There's a cep2_top_v22b.hak for builders who want to make sure their users are using CEP 2.2b. There's also cep22_v2.tlk, which should probably be copied to cep22_v1.tlk, as it's completely backwards-compatible. The cep2_top_v22.hak file is identical to the cep2_top_v22b.hak file as well."

While I understand you are running CEP 2.2, the particular .tlk file you are running is very difficult to find, I had to google it and then dig through vault entries before finding a reference to that particular .tlk which is listed above. I have 300gig of NWN content on a backup drive with no dice finding that particular .tlk, I called my father and had him check his as he has about 600gig of NWN content and no dice. Most people are running either cep2_v1.tlk, cep21_v1.tlk, cep22_v1.tlk, or cep23_v1.tlk as those were bundled with the releases of CEP and are readily available. I bring this up as more people may be willing to check out your world if they didn't have to do so much footwork to get what should be a download and go pack to work.

I'm not the original builder on this server, so I was not aware of any problems with cep. Thank you for letting me know. I will discuss your solution with our server administrator and former builder, and perhaps some changes will be made. We are currently using cep 2.2c.

For the moment, there is a simple solution that will allow you to log onto our server. If you have the file: cep22_v1.tlk, just make a copy and rename it cep22_v2.tlk. Keep both files in your tlk folder, and you will be able to log onto our server. I recall doing that myself when I first joined the server about 2 and a half years ago. I have not had any problems, nor has anyone else that tried it.

I did as you said above with the tlk and it actually worked. I thought of doing that before but was worried that I'd screw up all the other files, since nwn is buggy to begin with.

The world is very true to the OC and has a classic feel about it. The only thing I really dislike is the low xp, but I guess it's not a hack n slash place. It'd be cooler if more people played there.

Actually most of our players just like to fight, though we do have some that like role play. I did raise the xp a couple months ago, but it is still a little slow to start. Once you reach level 10 to 15, it gets easier to level. By 20 it can go pretty quick. We have a few guys here that can level to 40 in a few days. If you try the main quest, it is mostly challenging combat, some puzzles, and a little story too. The xp is pretty good too.

Yeah, we are still lokking for new players. It has been better lately though. Most come in the evenings, eastern time zone, but there some that come later. I usually come around 8 pm eastern, so if you see me on, I can show you some things to help you get started. Just look for a female character and it will probably be me, since most of our players are guys. They are all nice people though, and are always willing to help new players.

I play mostly female characters too. I'll check it out toward the evenings then, since I'm 5 hours ahead of you.
