Normally you don't need to open up ports on your modem but it might be necessary. Read the manual for your modem or go to http://portforward.com/

NWN's default port is 5121...so at least that one needs to be open but also 5122. Open up all ports 5120-5124 just to be sure.

More details about server hosting here:

http://nwn.bioware.c...winserver4.html

What system you running on?

well im no script kitty or anything but ive played nwn for some time.. and i noticed that if you are trying to run multiple comps from the same ip and loging into the same server youll need to alter the default port on one of the comps or youll get timed out. you can do this by going into your nwn folder to nwnconfig and scrolling to the botom and finding were it says Main=  and Server= making sure they arent the same port. and if your running 2 comps and seprate key codes make sure that neither of those are using the same ports. that will keep you from getting timed out when trying to log on to the same server as well.  this may keep you from open 1000's of unneeded ports and keep you that much safer.
