Hello there, i'd like to tell you all a little about this Middle Earth Roleplay server for NWN1. Middle Earth Roleplay UK has been in existence since 2002. We are a community of Middle Earth enthusiasts who started out like many MERP servers have done; by using a downloadable template module and making some changes and additions. Within a year, we stopped this and created our own gameworld from scratch - Untold Tales of Tolkien was born, and has existed for what will be 8 years, this May.
In the early part of 2010, I was able to put a great deal of time into the project, after quite a stale period of little development and contributors having to put the game down for other commitments or shiny new games. Since this resurgence in development, the gameworld has undergone a massive upgrade project, adding new features and systems, along with totally rebuilt content, from the ground up. This project is ongoing, but at this time, is in a state fit and credible enough to make me confident enough to spread the word and attempt to rebuild the playerbase. Thats enough history...
Untold Tales is a Middle Earth gameworld with a different approach to those widely seen. We steer clear of interfering and meddling with the major events, people and places Tolkien wrote of. Our plots, quests and adventures come from original ideas, yet still acknowledge the lore of the world with a tip of the hat. Characters may not become kings, they may not conquer every kingdom - but they will live an ever growing tale of a hero and champion - their Untold Tale.
Listed as a Roleplay server, I prefer to describe the server as an Action Adventure Roleplaying game. Every effort has been made to blend these important features of the game together harmoniously. Beautifully recreated areas, well thought out Middle Earth NPCs, compelling plots and carefully designed action elements come together to inspire the players to roleplay - for it is only they who can make that part of the game a success. We just give them the tools.
We are seeking to rebuild our playerbase and re-establish the server as
the server for Middle Earth Roleplay. We are a community of simple pleasures. You do not need to be familliar with Middle Earth to play. All the key information needed to play is provided to you and the gameworld is designed not to overwhelm the newcomer. Whether Tolkien fan or no, this server can be enjoyed as a thrilling RPG experience in its own right.

* Vast number of areas and regions, painstakingly built to be as accurate to Tolkiens writings as possible. Provide great atmosphere and immersion for roleplaying.
* Enjoy very different experiences; We have significant dedicated content for those of good and evil alignments. Play as good or neutral and begin your tale in the troubled west, or join the dark side and begin your rise to power in the treacherous darkness of Mirkwood.
* Participate in specially built campaigns for some of the regions you visit. They tell a story over a series of quests, taking your character to various points of interest, putting them in all manner of inspiring situations and up against terrible foes.
* Meet other player characters and form friendships or rivalries. Party up to tackle some great adventures.
* Make the most of changes to increase the effectiveness of certain classes to make them more viable in the Middle Earth Setting; More Favoured Enemies and Skills for Rangers, Reduced Arcane Spell Failure on certain types of armour for Bards, to name a few.
* Try out the comprehensive crafting system; create all manner of common items, find rare recipes to produce special craft-only items! Gather the resources for crafting during your adventures.
