               Hello Caenyrites! These last three months may just be the busiest the community has been in years! There's a heck of a lot going on, so let me get right to it!



First and foremost I have to mention one of the biggest initiatives Caenyr has ever embarked on - World of Caenyr Evolution (WoC Evo.)WoC has been one of the most successful and powerful PW forces to hit NWN, paving the way with ingenuity that others have adopted and leading the pack when it comes to community spirit and friendliness. The question then becomes - how do we do it again for another 8 years? The answer is WoC Evo. An initiative I started to have Caenyr adapt to the times but without damaging the core of who we are that has taken us this far and kept so many players in the community. To help me with this initiative I put together a focus group of players from various aspects of the community, a team I call the Fellowship of Caenyr.. yes... the FoC'ers. ;-) I use this team to help me get faster, more efficient feedback from the community in combination with the larger "Suggestions Forum" input from everyone, to develop changes that enhance the player experience in World of Caenyr. In the few months since WoC Evo went active I've already implemented some significant changes to our community such as an improved Builder Team for faster updates to the world (focus on getting player driven RP updates in as soon as they happen,) a Kingdom Travel system so players can get to each other faster, a Flexible Guild system to put the fate of the Caenyr guilds in YOUR hands not the administrators, a Unified Service Guild, rule improvements for Improved Evasion, Guild Sizes, Item Customization and more! And that's just the beginning! Another decision is to improve our forums to phpBB3 and I'm already working with our web host on the change. All of these changes are meant to improve player experience, player satisfaction, RP continuity and overall fun! And unfortunately there are times when we also have to say farwell to some players. NKW, Alexandra Alyssa, Auriello, matthias and Tuscany you will be missed. The community wishes you all the best and hopes to see you one day return home.



With the new and improved Builder Team has already come a ton of module updates! Some of the highlights from these updates include a Sea Battle Campaign, streamlined/improved/new Caenyr hakpaks, and in-game Auction system, a poison system, tons of new dungeons, items, guild updates, RP updates and more! The work that team has done in just a couple of months has been extraordinary, and I have to thank Brutus (new Builder Foreman) for his incredible leadership in making it all happen! Thanks, Brutus and team!



At the end of the day, however, what is World of Caenyr without some great RP? Trust me, there has been no lack of that! The biggest news is by far the end of the Tendril conquest by Genocian forces. After years of effort the resistance, aided primarily by the Righteous, has finally driven the Overlord and his minions out of their land, liberating it from evil's grasp. This war didn't come at no cost, however, with the capital of Gwaen being razed to the ground as the Legion fled back south. But now free the people can begin rebuilding, but who will step up to take the throne and lead them into this new era?... Meanwhile, up north in the Kingdom of Chail, times are equally as challenging. Since the discovered betrayal by the Regent the Kingdom has been left without definite leadership, and an army divided between the King's Royal Lancers and the Black Hand. In the midst of the chaos the Lizardfolk have attacked the lowlands and the Itheril conquered a portion of the forest. But the people have remained strong throughout and now new hope has risen from the birth of the King's Praetorian Knights and the leadership of Almares within the Council. Perhaps Chail too will find itself a new King in the near future...



Finally, in other community news we have had several Caenyr Player Conventions in cities such as Chicago (go figure) and Memphis, with several others on the horizon in Texas and also again Chicago. We also held several contests on the forums, one for a new Guild Leader of the Brethren (congrats Kusbana!) and one for a random drawing on those who gave donations to win a free character portrait courtesy of Yas'vyre (congrats Alur!) Meanwhile our MySpace fan page has gone through a complete facelift and also features a new Caenyr Shop item and new photos from conventions and in-game!                Ok, so building off of DangerMouse's idea, I've decided it's time to change up the DM Academy process slightly. In essence I have created two classes of DM's: Senior DM's and Junior DM's.

Senior DM's: These are the DM's you know today for the most part. They have graduated the DM Academy, play Deities, Kingdom Rulers, smite wrong doers, the whole kit and kabootle.

Junior DM's: Haven't graduated the Academy yet so are restricted from some senior level DM activities but otherwise are still considered a DM, meaning they can influence RP for the players of Caenyr from the moment they are selected to join the team. '> The activities they are restricted from until they graduate the Academy are:

• Playing a Deity
• Playing a Kingdom Ruler
• Creating Items for Quests/RP (They can still assist with bringing in guild items)
• Approving Character Bio's
• Character Level adjustments

On the inverse a Junior DM character CAN also be a Guild Leader since they don't have as many time-consuming responsibilities as Seniors but once they graduate the Academy they will have to give up the GL spot, same as it is for Academy members today.

Other than that they can do anything a senior DM can do including claiming Personal Quests, solving disputes between players, etc. So they should NOT be looked at any differently, both Seniors and Juniors are DM's of the same authority. Senior is not a rank, it just indicates that those DM's have been through more training and experience and therefore perform some higher level duties.

In light of the changes I made a ton of forum updates and changes to the DM forums over these last few hours and also updated our DM Roster. You can view that here. For example, due to this change the three members currently enrolled in Academy class 015 (Brutus, Gallows and mastersuntzu) are now officially "DM's" on the roster. Behind the scenes they are still of a Junior status, however. Hope that all makes sense how it works now. '>

               Wow, this year really snuck up on me quick!!! Happy Anniversary!!!! Today is NINE YEARS for World of Caenyr - WOW!!!!!!! I really don't know what to say that I haven't already said every year since our birth. YOU, the players and friends in this community make this place so special, make it all worth it. Nine years of ups and downs but fun throughout it all, with some of the best people I've ever met and have been able to call my friends. It's amazing that we've come this far together and it still feels as enjoyable as it did for me from the beginning. I've said it before and I'll say it again - I'll be here until it's just me and one of you players left if that one other player is still excited for World of Caenyr, and hell even after they leave I might stick around and RP with myself. LOL! Anyway, here's to another 9 amazing years you bastages!!!

               So, it's been a long time since I've been around NWN(well over a year or more, probably closer to 1 1/2 years).  Same amount of time it's been since I last visited WoC.  Just wanted to drop by, say hi, and apologize for my sudden disappearance back then.  My computer went schitzo, and I ended up without for nearly 6 months.  By the time I got it back, I didn't feel like playing NWN anymore, but that still doesn't excuse the fact that I left all of you hanging.  You guys are a damn friendly bunch and deserved better from me. 

Due to recently getting back into D&D through Giant in the playground forums(a play by post site), I started to crave NWN, soI recently installed(tonight, actually) NWN, and doing so reminded me of all you guys, and I decided I should come over here and apologize.  Hope things are going great in WoC, I miss your awesome world and the friendly players! Especially the pirate type(I'm sorry, It has been a long time, so I've forgotten specific group names) guild I joined in-world!  Had a lot of great fun with you all.  oh, for thos who might not remember me, iirc, I played a monk character with..I think the name of Kyran? or Kyraneth.  Ahh, after looked it up on the WoC site, I see it was Kusai Yegreth, a follower of Drigen ^^

               Hello and no need to apologize, completely understand! Life causes players to come and go all of the time, it's the way of things. Means a lot that you felt the need to apologize, however, and I really appreciate all of the very nice things you said about the world and the community of players! Now that you are back with NWN you should come back to us, would love to have you return!                Subscriber Update - June 2011

Hello, World of Caenyr!!!! Well my last subscriber update was towards the end of 2010 so there is
definitely a LOT to cover since then and over this first half of 2011! No further delays, let's go!

First thing I have to say is HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! We have hit 9 YEARS as a community and persistent world!
Wow, time really flies when you are having fun. Almost a decade and we still have a great base of players, many new but also many from the earliest days still with us as well. It's incredible the amount of RP that has been accomplished and the amount of friendships that have been forged over all these years. I'm humbled and honored to be able to lead this great group of people and to have been witness to your shaping of our amazing world. Here's to many more years ahead of us, Caenyr!

Speakingof our amazing community, several player conventions have taken place since my last update, one in Texas and one in Chicago where yours truly attended! Photos the two conventions have just been posted to our
MySpace fan page along with a couple of older ones that still didn't have their photos up, so go check them out! I was personally able to attend one of the conventions and I had a blast! You guys never cease to amaze me when I get to meet you in person! In other player news we have had a lot of new players join our great world and many returning players too. It's half a year's worth so bare with me and apologies up front for anyone that I've missed (I'm sure there are some!) But here it goes, welcome to World of Caenyr!

On a sadder note we have had to say goodbye to Lili Ral'orn who has left Caenyr. You are already missed, hope to see you return one day.

If you remember in the last update I announced the World of Caenyr Evolution (WoC Evo) initiative, to quickly bring some community driven changes to the world so Caenyr evolves with the times and remains a fun and exciting place to play at. I'm happy to say the iniative has been a huge success so far, already driving over a dozen significant improvements! Great job to the previousFellowship of Caenyr, the selected group that represented the player population for the first 6 months of WoC Evo and helped establish these incredible changes. The next Fellowship will be selected soon and I'm sure will bring the same level of enthusiasm and ideas that the other
group did. I look forward to how we continue to grow!

There have been some pretty big changes in the DM team. First off we have a brand new DM Supervisor, DM Dangermouse and he is already kicking major arse! Secondly I have modified the DM team to allow for new candidates to act in full DM fashion the moment they are selected to join the team. These "junior" DM's have all the authority a Dungeon Master normally has and can start bringing RP to the players immediately! Their only limitation is the level of RP responsibility they are allowed to take on, such as the playing of Caenyr deities and so forth. Only after graduation from the DM Academy do they become "senior" DM's and earn these privileges. With this change we have already added several new DM's to the team and the impact has been immediate! The junior squad is already on the server brigning some awesome roleplay to the players!

I can't post an update without mentioning the INCREDIBLE work Brutus and his Builder Team have been doing!! EVERY month we have module updates now, most of them pretty significant and all of them appreciated! Besides a ton of hak additions/improvements to enhance the aesthetics of the world and options for the players, and updates to many of the popular areas that already exist in the World, the team has recently given you the Sepich
Stronghold, Goldhaven, Sea Battles, Persistent Storage, implemented manyof the WoC Evo's and so much more! Can't thank you guys enough, you rock! Check out this month's screenshot of Goldhaven to get just a small taste of their amazing work. You'll have to get in game to experience the rest!

We invite you, the players of the Neverwinter Nights community, to experience our vision of a Persistent World...a world going  nine years strong!

For the months of November and December, we are going to be removing our password restriction as well as the bio requirement before entry into our world.  Bio's are always encouraged as a way for you to help "see" your character, but will not be required to submit until you have attained level 5.  Should you wish to stay and continue to play at our world, we will ask that you write your bio at that time.  The forums will still require you to register your character of course, but once done you will have full access to all the information you will need to inspire you and enrich & further your characters story.

We have many wonderful stories to share, a rich world with a very in depth player-made history, and a quality group of Role Players, some here since the beginning!

So, if you have been wanting to try us out, but never took the plunge, now is the time.  Come, see what we have to offer.  Come!  Be a part of the story that is The World of Caenyr.
