Familiars are a bit different here in that they change/metamorphis through out the spell casters life. Some of them can only be chosen by certain leanings of a Character. In other words if you as a lawful good mage choose a Hell Hound, then said Hell Hound has every right to eat you.

Bat (familiar)
The bat grows in size and is a favorite of races like Stout and Hins. It starts as a small fruit bat and works its way up to a Large Dire Bat that "might" someday soon be able to be ridden.*crosses scripting fingers*

Eyeball (familiar)
Still ugly as heck so good for those of questionable alignment. It does change through out the game till becoming an almost Beholder Type beast at high levels.

Faerie dragon (familiar)
Elves and non evil aligned mages ONLY please. No large changes.

Shadow Mastiff (familiar)
Choose fire mephit for this one if you wish to have a shadow mastiff. It is a shadow creature and I would suspect those of either Shar influence or what not to lean towards these.  These are for evil aligned or Necromancers ONLY please.

War Hound (familiar)
For those of Lawful Evil descent...while a Hell Hound they start out as War Dogs and as you progress they do as well till eventually becoming Hell Hounds.

Mephit (familiar)
The Mephits change from Ice to Fire to Water to Dust and will keep changing throughout the progression till they become a Elemental Mephit or Elder Mephit.

Imp (familiar)
The typical Imp of those of the Art.

Panther (familiar)
This starts as a Cat that slowly grows larger as you progress till it tops out at near Black Tiger Status
Pixie (familiar)
A bit lower on thier ability to open locks but generally the same. (I did give them a "pixie bow" too.

Snake (familiar)
Please choose psuedodragon but this is a Snake who grows with the PC and becomes quite large.

Raven (familiar)
Nothing changed though I am leaning towards trying to do something similar to the Bat.

               The Druid/Ranger available animal companions are;
Badger
Blink Dog
Bear
Boar
Hawk
Crag Cat
Spider
Wolf
Rat.

To choose Blink Dog please be of good alignment.

You pick Dire Wolf for Blink Dog. The Wolf, Badger, Bear, Boar, Hawk, Crag Cat, Spider, and Rat all do start smaller than normal but as you rise in power they too begin to rise in strength until becoming of Legendary Status.

Also be aware that we are discussing that those of Malar Druid type Status can get Malar Animals instead if we see no intrest in one of the animals.

You can download the CEP 2.2 and the CEP Updater on this page. After downloading the CEP 2.2 then dl the Updater and run it and it will patch you to the 2.3 alot easier.

               The Crystal Keys Dilemma

'Posted

Long ago, a great and powerful Lich forged fantastic magical artifacts. The Lich's fell magic was so powerful that even the gods feared to cross him. On a whim the Lich let loose these magical artifacts on Toril. They caused much havoc and destruction and the Lich was delighted and entertained. The two that caused the most destruction were...Crenshinibon the sentient crystal shard and the Gatekeeper's Crystals.

So with the passage of time the Lich has been forgotten but he has not forgotten....

The Doom and Gloom Bard Competition

'Posted

The House of the Harp (formerly the Fochlucan college) is having a competition to announce its new opening. There will be a competition judged by three well known Bards and Sages. The tales will be judged on several different key areas.

Competitors will be asked to perform two different pieces before a panel of judges, with the Silver Lady in attendance.

Competitors will be judged by a groups of judges. The scores will be averaged and the performer with the highest average score is the winner.

There is no theme for either piece and can be in any style the competitor chooses (the two pieces can, if fact, be the same format). The competition will take place in the newly opened House of the Harp following evening Court. Refreshment will be provided.

Grand Prize;
There will be a book (or two) in our module with your PCs name and songs/poetry. We also will upload this as a link to the Vault to be downloaded if they wish to have it there as well. If the player is someone who already plays here they will have free room and board at one of the College's Rooms. If it is a player from another server who wins we can make their PC into a NPC Teacher at the college.

Sept 11th is the Bards Competition
Sept 12th is The Crystal Keys Adventure

After listening to feedback and such from players and Staff we have loosened up our XP Rates for level 1 to 3 to make it so with in about an hour or two of being on the server you will gain these levels.

After 3rd we go back to a more normal progression to lengthen the "Sweet Spot" of Dungeons and Dragons adventuring of between level 5 and 15.

                                                                                      The Clucking of Vengance.

((An event for low-level characters, levels 1-5, in the town of Khelb.  Start time, approximately 9 PM Eastern Standard (USA) time on Sunday, September 5th.  Starting point, Inn at Khelb. If not enough shows up, I plan to attempt this the following Monday as well.))

Rumors spread about recent events in the village of Khelb, as the wide variety of travellers in the region have been chased away by incessant chicken noises from one of the local farms.  Any attempts so far to silence the animals has failed.  The locals have made a call for any individuals willing to investigate this matter, in hopes that they can avoid needing to silence them in a more permanent way.

We have made a new and improved Silver Marches Portrait Pack that has about 1000 pics in it. This does have some Sub Races for tieflings and assimars if you use this as well as Gensai but all in all it is about 50 pictures of each sex and race....except gnomes which have about 25 of each because...well...they are gnomes.

All of these are from the Vault and there is no nudity in any of them or Naruto or Anime pics either.

I also removed LotR Pics as between LotRs and modified pics of Angelina Jolie I almost went mad.

What you will not find is Drizzit in here. Or junk. Or naked breast displayed which btw leads me to think as many pair of ahem pics of naked women there was that some teenage kid made about half the packs on the Vault.

It is NOW loaded to the Vault at the linked page.

Due to some bad news on my health I am going to have to step down from our wonderful server but fear not...three folks have stepped into my role and will contuine to sally forth as Lead Scripter, Lead Builder, and Admin.

I want to thank everyone who has been there and done anything involved with the Silver Marches.

Wish me Tymora's Smile as I go forth to battle the Big C.

Trouble in Khelb: The Circe Conundrum

After four intrepid adventurers and one courageous fowl, had successfully routed a secret Goblin settlement just outside the gates, it had appeared that Khelb's chicken problems had halted.  However, each eve since, a chicken has been found on the outside walls ripped apart with the following words written crudely in their blood on the walls: "Ours Now".  With travel through Silverymoon Pass as bustling as ever, the Argent Legion has no choice but to turn to wandering adventurers to investigate this mystery.

((An event for low to mid-level characters, levels 1-10, in the town of Khelb.  Start time, approximately 3 PM Eastern Standard (USA) time on Sunday, September 19th.))

Even though we haven't been in game recently (on top of normal RL, we are currently in the middle of yet another move) we are most certainly pulling for you, TSMDude! Plenty of healing thoughts and positive energies being sent your way!

While I am down and out being worked on by guys intrested in me in a paper gown and women with purdy cold hands, our host has done the unthinkable.

He has UPGRADED the server box and now it runs well over double the old output in the pipes so to speak.

Thank you to our host Stonewyvern for his contuining support and upgrades.

Very exciting news and a huge cut in lag from our more than capable team is being done while I am out for a while.

Thank you all for contuining to look and checking out the Server and welcome back to our old friends as well that have resurfaced.
