               If we base it on the old forums, this is for technical discussions on running persistent worlds and the Ye Olde Tavern is where you advertise your goodies.  As per usual, it will take some settling in before the purposes get back to normal.

               I don't know what you mean by "goodies". Personally I see this as a section about PW's and MP...anything that is not that goes in the other section(/sections).



The Guilds and Registry section is already cluttered up with PW announcments of course....doh.

               There's been a lot of confusion about where to advertise PWs on the old boards. "Guilds and Registry" didn't really hint at PW and Multiplayer so people often advertised their Multiplayer and PW "mods" on the Module Discussion forum. With a forum like this called "Persistant Worlds & Multiplayer" maybe this won't happen anymore, so its introdcuction is a good thing, I think.



But I see more confusion now coming up by keeping "Guilds & Registry: YOT". Did anyone actually talk about guilds on "Ye Olde Tavern"? And what does "Registry" mean, especially in light of our new situation? Might be a better choice to keep "Server Admin" along with the new "PW & Multiplayer" forum and instead get rid of "G&R:YOT"...

               From the old forums description of Ye Olde Tavern:
 
"Neverwinter Nights 1 guilds, clubs,
events, fan pages, history, and persistent world/area updates"
 
If you look in those old forum pages you will see people seeking other people and worlds to join.  When you have people seeking out others and communities to join it is only natural that advertisements for such worlds appear in such a forum.

               I think guilds had to do with the guild section tied to the old forums, there is no such section here, at least i have not found it yet, so no guilds part in this topic. I haven't even looked at the old guild part of the old site in at least 2 years, so I can't say that  I miss it. I believe most PWs, have their own forums/websites, So maybe it is viewed as no longer needed? Anyway good to see you all here '> Oliver, the new portrait looks awful, I can handle the move here and the killing of the old forums, but I do not think I can take looking at that...

               I think we all agree that we should definitely keep a forum for PW announcements, I just think "Persistent Worlds & Multiplayer" is the better name for it. Or maybe "Persistent Worlds & Multiplayer: Ye Olde Tavern".

He he. I'd have preferred that goat guy from Jade Empire (never played it so I don't know who that is) but unfortunately that was taken by clansunstar and Tarot Redhand already. You'd probably not like the original pic either but on top of it the portraits additionally get distorted in the forum sections. I thought I had read we were allowed to use our own avatars here but the FAQ says no. Grrr.

               I don't remember seeing enough posts about guilds to warrant a site area just for it alone, if we're placing everything about PWs and MP worlds here. It's just confusing.
