INVITATION
Roleplaying server looking for new players and Dungeon Masters. We're currently searching for people to involve in both player controlled rp environments (such as leading the defense of an elven city, beating back the orc hoard, or starting your own drow house) and in new campaigns (detailed weekly story sessions guided by a DM).
SETTING
A famous tavern apparently from the Prime, the World Serpent Inn is a curious planar pathway indeed, as it shifts location from Prime to Outer Planes, and even Inner Planes seemingly at will. Almost all the inhabitants of the Inn are travelers, either by design or by chance. Many have simply stopped here during journeys to other places, while others came to the Inn accidentally, then realized they could not get home.
Opening a door in the Serpent takes you into a dark labyrinth-like passage. Along its walls are many doors of all types; doors made completely of links of metal, doors frosted over with ice or covered in a layer of shadow,
doors glowing with ever changing glyphs, and more. Those who look about keenly may notice that some doors appear or disappear or seem to change position along the walls in an endless, silent shuffle.
Nobody knows who built the place, nor why it seems unfettered by the rules of normal time and space, but shift it does, and many travelers are thankful for that.
SERVER DESIGN
The World Serpent Inn
requires CEP 2.3 and our cutom hak content to play. WSI has over 300 highly detailed areas to explore, with more in the works. Custom built encounters, quests, unique magic items, and an incredible community of mature role-players.
There are many different areas at varying levels of difficulty. Some areas can be reached easily, while other require special access such as maps, keys, etc. Many dungeons have an unfolding story to discover during play, and require you to stop for skill checks, or reveal detailed information about the environment... making it feel more like a pnp session.
Dynamic changes are made to the module as time passes and as a result of in-game events. Players can literally change the face of the module through their actions in the game. DMs are true storytellers and work with the players to give them a chance in the spotlight.
ROLEPLAY INTRODUCTION
You didn't believe it would work. Everyone... well not everyone, but some knew the rumor. You go to the door alone. It has to be the count of 30 past the first light of dawn. You check behind yourself three times while touching the old handle, then you whisper "I come with no friends save what I bring", then you close your eyes and push.
The rumor to how you disappear.
Some people have said they've done it, but you never quite believed them. But still you did it yourself. You checked the inside of the old building in the alley many times, itself only a moth and rat eaten interior of an old home, a crumbling ruin so forgotten it hasn't even been torn down. You counted, you whispered, your cheeks burned with the embarrassment of what a fool you must seem. And you pushed open the door expecting to smell rot and rat, instead to find the powerful aroma of cedar and liquor assaults your nostrils. The sounds of laughter and arguments, the clatter of plate and mug, you open your eyes and there is a merry inn, as homey and worn as an old pair of boots.
Behind the counter stood the man. The stories where always different but the man was always there, the strange innkeeper. His smile wide and jolly, his piggy eyes near closed from his joyful expression, happily cleaning an old wooden tankard... he nods his head to you jovially in greeting. Your eyes dart behind you, and the doorway behind you inky vastness now, no sign of your home.
You've come this far, to myth or reality... and here you stand. A short comely little wench tugs you forward to find yourself a seat. If the rumors are true, you may never find your home again, but you'll never fail to now find the World Serpent Inn and all of it's wonders.
