Desperate need for a scripter....
« on: April 08, 2016, 12:29:25 pm »

Okay here is my cry for help!

Why? Our scripter vanished from the earth and we woukd like to have some help with the buffy module. We have some things that we need to add to our module and it is simply beyond my scripting skill!

Now there is the following that REALLY needs to be added/adjusted and changed and we just cannot do it with the current scripting skill that is available:

- polymorph creatures for quests: 2 mondters are required to polymorph into a custom monster for quests.

- respawnable chests: several chests need to respawn after a certain ammount of time (onenter?)

- persistent reputation, check and fix: i made an attempt to create a persistent reputation system but its simply not working....so anyone wanna take a looksie?

- script check for quest? A quest does bot function anymore due to a Script error I believe...

Anyway any help would be very much appreciated.

I would love to help you out, but have too much on my plate for the next couple of weeks. What is the single simplest scripting help needed. I may be able to knock that out to start.

Try the NESS, it will handle respawning placeables, creatures and, items.  http://neverwinterva...ystem-ness-v813

be sure to grab the tutorial, so you can see how to make use of it. http://neverwinterva...t/ness-tutorial

Have a look in Unearthed Gold - there are one or more (I did a quick check) chest respawning script in there (along with 300+ other scripts).

A scripter vanishing from the Earth!  Sounds like a quest hook to me.

I'll message you and see if we can work some of this out.

It's been a while since anyone has supported NESS. The last version I was aware of still had a couple of systems that didn't fire. Let me know if you ever find something. I have used it extensively for the last 10 years and think I pretty much worked them out. It really is the cat's meow. Make sure you get the manual too, its located here http://members.dslex...ers/markmorris/, it's invaluable. The tutorial is based on 8.1.1 and has good ideas and examples. It also has some bugs though.
