I’m looking for a scripter (or two!) to help with a Native American themed PnP style DMed NWNs campaign called Middlewater, due to start later this year. 


 


I have prior experience of running a similar server for three years back when NWNs was new and have returned for a second run because this game is still the only one that can deliver what I want.


 


My focus is on story-telling, building, custom content and DMing… the setting already includes an array of unique base classes, new skills and feats and reworked core mechanics to better suit the setting.  As this is a DMed campaign many of the systems I employ can be managed by DMs and do not require scripted automation, but there is also much that would benefit from it and some things that simply have to be scripted.


 


I have basic scripting knowledge myself but I accept that I cannot specialise in everything. What I do have is long experience of working with scripters, so I can provide thorough specification to work from, an always-on dedicated server, Teamspeak 3, .NET Fiddle and an existing team of play-testers.  I also make it my business to understand how all added content works so everything plays nicely together.  Any scripter is encouraged to take an active part in the finished product (various DM roles are available) so you can see your stuff in action and learn from the experience.


 


Some examples of core systems I need help with include:


  • A custom respawn/death system featuring bleeding, mutilation, ‘soul jar’ medicine bundles, reincarnation and possession.

  • A rework of curative magic to put greater emphasis on preparative, regenerative and ‘sacrificial’ heals (think John Coffey in ‘The Green Mile).

  • Tracking, Hunting & Foraging using custom skills, (hidden) placeables, dog companion handling, animal spoor etc.

  • Expansion of an existing system for ammo preservation and managing throwable weapons.
