I just keep the downloadable version on my desktop(s) for quick and easy access, even if there's no internet available.

The web based versions were only done -just in case- folks continued adding to the Lexicon after the 1.69 version, which no one had that I know of.

There's something to be said for a local copy of things. The intraweb is nice but it can be impermanent.  I wish there was a good way to turn the wiki pages back into a static local copy to get all the updates...

yeah, the wiki site came back up yesterday evening.  proleric said it had been down "recently", but i don't know how long.

 

the wiki is definitely more updated than whatever static 1.69 pages are hosted.  i had it in my head that i had an "archive" or dump option for the wiki so people could locally cache it.  maybe i never actually did that.

Thanks Dood!  I didn't see anything like archive.  but I didn't log in.  Maybe that's needed to see it?

one of the lexicon wiki admins has to manually create accounts for people.  anonymous edits still work, though.

 

 

as for the dump, i went looking into it again and i'm thinking more and more that i never set it up.  i thought there was an extension to generate dumps on the fly, but i think it's more of a cron job / direct link kind of thing.
