Question about ActivateItem used as (fake) spell by a NPC

Below post is copied from the new vault in hope of reaching a few more people here

Is it possible to let a NPC perform an ActivateItem animation without the weapon in his hand disappearing? If a PC uses a UniquePower of a weapon in his hand, it remains visible during the casting animation and I would like to somehow replicate this for a NPC. Using ActionCastSpellAtObject or ActionCastFakeSpellAtObject make the weapon disappear with all of the ActivateItem spells (as with any other spells, except those which use the "attack" cast animation).

The reason for my question is that I wrote a small custom combat ai which uses Wulfraiders Musket scripts with the Issig Flintlocks and it simply would look much better, if the guns wouldn't disappear while "shooting".
