Stomach talk
« on: May 30, 2012, 06:54:54 am »

Ok I got the basics of my dynamic swallow / stomach system up. My questions are just how detailed should I go?
Spell hook(concentration checks while in the stomach)?
Limiting to light weapons can be equiped while in stomach?
Stomach acid damage?
durability damage?

I have
8 Gargantuan stomachs
8 Huge
16 Large
16 Medium

In a prefab area that can cycle so when one stomach opens it can be reset to a new creature that assigns his stomach onspawn.

Is this enough for basic parties of like say 1-8?
HERE the PNP Swallow whole
Swallow Whole (Ex):
If a creature with this special attack begins its turn with an opponent held in its mouth (see Improved Grab), it can attempt a new grapple check (as though attempting to pin the opponent). If it succeeds, it swallows its prey, and the opponent takes bite damage. Unless otherwise noted, the opponent can be up to one size category smaller than the swallowing creature.
Being swallowed has various consequences, depending on the creature doing the swallowing. A swallowed creature is considered to be grappled, while the creature that did the swallowing is not. A swallowed creature can try to cut its way free
with any light slashing or piercing weapon (the amount of cutting damage required to get free is noted in the creature description), or it can just try to escape the grapple. The Armor class of the interior of a creature that swallows whole is normally 10 + 1/2 its natural armor bonus, with no modifiers for size or Dexterity. If the swallowed creature escapes the grapple, success puts it back in the attacker’s mouth, where it may be bitten or swallowed again.

We do all of the above - we like to stay as close to the cannon as possible. We also allow for the stomach contents to be damaged by blunt and piercing damage to the creature that swallowed them. '<img'>  Fun stuff.

Does this mean you have gargantuan sized creatures? or are the stomachs like holes in the ground?

Ok pretty much done, just have to adjust the stomach placables to block line of sight casting so you cannot cast on other pc in other stomachs or on other stomachs walls etc.. add in the damage to equipment. My nephew suggested different damage types based on the creature (right now it just 1d6 acid as base) like fire for the belly of a red dragon, frost from a cold based creature etc.. I think I get into that later down the line after some feed back and see if I missed anything in testing. Should be in the next HR Base release.
