Now... for the $25000 question. Can the sensor be targeted by area of effect spells when it has the ghost effect and cutscene invis active on it?

"Targeted" or merely affected?  Many AoE spells SHOULD harm all creatures & bashable placeables/doors within range including NPCs & party members unless scripted otherwise, with or without True Seeing, but would need to guess correctly on the sensor's location without it.

The tricky part (other than the ones mentioned above) is that he *doesn't* want the Scry Sensor invis to all PCs. He wants it detectable with True Seeing.

improved invisibility effect is closest to this, the imp. invis won't disappear after attack, but see invis/TS will penetrate it, also creatures with TS/see invis wont get 50% concealment against the creature with ii

Yes, it seems that those effects were created only for better visual experience. Ie monsters will still attack creature with cutscene invisibility (though players can't see it).

Very good information. Thank you.
Looks like I'll need etherealness still or soemthing like it for the NPC side of things.
