Spawning local persistent sound
« on: December 29, 2011, 10:02:30 pm »

I'm attempting to have a stationary celestial 'vision' spawn with a looping local 'magical' sound. I've not been able to get the sound spawn, though have succeeded with the other objects, so I'm starting to wonder if this is even possible, and if so, how to do it?

You need to place the sound in the toolset. As long as the sound exists somewhere, you can position the sound and turn the sound on/off. When you're not using it, just turn it off.
As far as I know, you can't spawn a sound object. You just control the ones that already exist.

That is my experience as well. I have never been able to spawn a sound object.

I have however been able to tell an object to play a sound. This doesn't have all the settings of a sound object, but its handy in a pinch.

Thanks, the toggling sound objects has worked a treat!
