I've been working for quite some time on my own PW (years, now), and most of my work has gone into adapting other script systems for my own use. I've also been designing a heavy-duty back-end based on coding techniques from HCR2, MemeticAI, and the Common Scripting Framework to make scripting systems plug 'n' play. Getting many disparate script systems to play nice together is a monumental task, so having a flexible back-end can save you a lot of headache. Of course, teaching others how to use the back-end you've spent so much time on is... fun.
If you don't want to go to all that trouble but still want to make working with many different script systems simpler, do a Vault search for HCR2 or the Common Scripting Framework. Time invested in understanding how those work is not wasted.
