Kuronue,

We do not control either vault, nor do we determine how content there is categorized.  This thread is designed to link to different forms of content that will help aid scripters.  It does not link to specific scripts.  If you want a thread on homebrewed scripts there is a link to it in this thread.  Any organization you wish in any media this thread links to, should be brought up there and not on this thread.

That's not the point of my post its kinda off topic what you said. We can at least help players be better informed on the forums, but what you were referring to was one of many problems with the vault. I am trying to get in touch with the people who are currently running it to make that statement about the messy nature of the search and classification issues you mentioned. HOWEVER it's not what I wanted to point out. Just bear with me a moment, I will make it clear enough in time.

you mentioned what this thread was about and I will say again we have control over the forums we should be able to at least better categorize the resources listed on the forums if not encourage it be done on the vault itself.

So I've been looking around.. I opened the 2da files and read a little about scripting.. but how do I even start with making new spells or feats? I know I can copy a feat or modify it's accessibility.. but where would I change the actual effects of a feat or spell? If I can get help finding that location, I can copy and edit to make something new, referencing existing content.

For a clean way to do this, see Spell Hook Tutorial. The standard scripts that produce the actual effects are listed by spell in spells.2da and by feat in feats.2da.

P.S. Questions like this probably deserve their own post, as this is a sticky about Tools and Resources.
