Has anyone done ceilings for all the standard tilesets?

I recall somebody working on such a project a few years ago. I suggest a forum search.

Chico made ceilings for all the tilesets. The textures he uses are bad because of pseudo bump maps that don't even match the textures baked into them, but the ceilings are good. If you use the clutter-free versions as a base for retextured tilesets you could make something nice from them.

Ok

I found http://neverwinterva...ular-hak-system

That said when I loaded the base hak and the castle interior hak there wasn't any ceilings for the Jail and Storage.

Any idea on why or how I could fix this?

I think I will download http://neverwinterva...t/nwncq-project and see if they are working there. However if they are do I just export the models and put them in the castle interior hak?

Interesting. Did I miss some tiles?

I simply used sed to move files around into different HAKs.

Update I was able to export the models from the first and import them into the second and it fixed the Jail and Storage ceilings.

I'm not sure " Henesua " however once I exported the models from the NWNCQ and imported them into the city1 hak both the jail and storage ceiling were there.

Question: Is this Black area from an unfinished model?

I ask because most of the time if its a missing texture the area is white and not black.

I have also found areas that are see through. There is no texture, no black are, and you can just see into the next room.

Would this be from the model being unfinished as well?

Yes, depending on how you define "Unfinished".  Most of Bioware interiors had no ceilings etc.  By Design.  So, technically they are not "unfinished", but are just "not what you wanted" types of things.  However, in a set that really does have most ceilings etc, then yeah, I would consider a few without ceilings as being unfinished.

If they have the "black texture" assigned, that was definitely by the choice of the model maker for that particular tile, or was placed there as a place-holder until they got around to actually mapping the correct texture into place.  Remember, sometimes you have to adjust the mapping of a texture on a given object as the defaults just won't line up correctly etc.  Especially in the pics you have shown, those ceilings are very detailed AND they have long lines running the length of the ceiling that must be adjusted to correctly line up to the next tile or object that has a texture applied.

Basically, it looks like you found the tiles that were added in an in-complete state or were copied from other sets that never had ceilings, depending on which tiles you are talking about.

As usual, you don't get a plug and play solution. I use the ones made by Zwerk for his interior tilesets, which are the best ceilings in my opinion, save for the "tavern" and "shops" minisets. For those, and most everything else, I use the ceilings made by Hardpoints, which some don't even like because they're inverted geometry. Still, better than nothing, I say, and I like them alright despite other options being available. There are some loose projects for specific tilesets but, like I said, no plug and play.

This one is just for the drow interior tileset, but it's a quick add via hak or override (no new textures or walkmeshes, just the models).
