Symmetric's stuff
« on: February 19, 2016, 11:36:06 pm »

Thread for updates or new stuff I make. I figured one single thread is enough as I don't release that much anyway.

Arcane VFX Placeables

Update 2016-02-19

neverwintervault.org/project/nwn1/hakpak/original-hakpak/arcane-vfx-placeables

I've added more Circles and 80 new runes. They are all animated (on, off, dead + transistions). It's still only a fraction of the available brushes. I have released the source files (in gimp xcf format) so if someone wants to create more they use the original color schemes.

For non-animated versions check out Tarot Redhand's Arcane Circles or Runes. They were made using the same brushes and have many more variants.

Arcane Circles (120)

  1. Variety: 5 colors x 3 sizes x 3 angles

  2.
  3. Variety: 5 colors x 3 sizes x 3 angles

  4.
  5. Variety: 5 colors x 3 sizes x 2 angles

Made with gimp using Arcane Circles Brushes from ObsidianDawn.

Arcane Runes (80)

8 Varieties x 5 colors x 2 angles

Made with gimp using Arcane Runes Brushes from ObsidianDawn.

NWN 2 style map transitions

Comes in 2 sizes, large & small. Thank you Kamal for extracting the textures from NWN 2.

Thanks for the links to a couple of my projects. I left a comment on your project page to that effect.

Could you upload some pics of the transitions? I don't really get what they are since I don't have NWN2 installed.

It's NWN 1 :-). I made a gif: http://imgur.com/6rXMNcS. It think I overdid it with the framerate though. It's 8 MB while having a low resolution - but it's good enough for a demo.

Neverblender

v1.23

neverwintervault.org/project/nwn1/other/tool/neverblender-blender-26x-27x

New neverblender version. Main feature is the improved handling of smooth groups.

  • Smooth groups are now handled with the sharp edges feature in blender.

  • During import smooth groups will be converted to sharp edges.

  • Edges can be marked/unmarked as sharp in Edit mode with the CTRL+E context menu.

  • If a group of sharp edges form a closed loop the exporter will convert them to smooth groups for the mdl file.

This replaces the old (buggy) method of importing smooth groups as vertex groups.

These are nice

I personally would love some Goetic Sigils

This is my one  :-)

Bael.gif##

A full list can be got here:

http://www.sacred-ma...oetia/Bael.html

But you need to tinker with the URL to get the sigils

Lower quality entire sigil list available here:

Hehe, I don't plan on adding more for a while. I made way more than I originally had planned anyway. But I've released the source files for the textures, so if anyone feels eager ... '<img'>.

Gimp plt plugin

v1.1

http://neverwintervault.org/project/nwn1/other/tool/gimp-plt-plugin-cross-platform

I've updated the gimp plt plugin: The order of the imported layers has been flipped to match the old plugin (now starts with Tattoo2 from the top)

Furthermore I wasn't patient enough for the long loading/saving times, so I've rewritten them in C. There are now 3 versions available:

  • Windows 64 bit

  • Linux 64 bit

  • Cross platform

The latter is written in python. It works everywhere Gimp does, but it's slower than the first two. All of them offer the same functionality. Don't mix them though, install only one of them.

I've uploaded the wrong files for neverblender 1.23. Sorry about that. New version is 1.23a, uploaded to the vault.

Placeable Construction Sets

v1.0

http://neverwintervault.org/project/nwn1/hakpak/original-hakpak/placeable-construction-sets

This is a placeable set for build arches with 18 pieces (+extra pieces for secret doors). You can fill the arches with wall sections to create a solid wall and even create secret doors. Have a look at the screenshots for an overview of the available pieces or check out the demo module.

Zwerkules kindly allowed me to use textures from the Mountainous Forest tileset.

Update for the Arch and Wall set.

  • Renamed it to Placeable Construction set

  • Fixed shadow issues for Set 0 and added some more pieces

  • New CODI style arches

I thought of doing some mine tracks next or maybe a library or bar.
