Desparately seeking Milkshape NwN export plug-in
« on: February 12, 2016, 01:00:08 am »

A few months ago I went and registered Milkshape. Now I know that there used to be an export plug-in for it for exporting NwN model (.mdl) files. It was made around 2002 - 2006. However the link on the Milkshape forums and google are all broken. Now the thing is I could swear 2 things - I used to have a copy (before I got Milkshape) of this that I got from the old ign vault. However memory can be a fickle thing so I may be wrong. It doesn't appear to be on the current vault as I asked on there a few weeks ago and so far nobody has replied. The file that I am looking for is msMDLImporter1.0.zip or something like msMDLImporter1.0.dll.

Any help appreciated.

I know I had a copy of that somewhere, but apparently I lost that too... damned lightning strikes.  At least my neighbor's house got physically damaged this last time and he was told to remove his lightning rods from his house...

I MAY have a copy on CD, but it will take me a while to find it... I will start looking for it tomorrow, as I can barely keep my eyes open this morning.

Thank you Bannor. Just looking is all I can ask at this stage. If you actually find it, that will be a bonus.

I have looked through 12 cd's so far, but I am really dreading digging into this 100 cd pack that I have hidden in a box here....

This pc tends to freeze / lockup after loading 2 cds in a row.  The power just dies out and it locks up.  But I will keep digging, it is just going to take time.

I have looked through 12 cd's of stuff so far, no luck... I know I have some cd's that are strictly tools and not catch-as-catch-can types of backups, but I have not yet found them in my stacks... I will keep looking though.

Well, bad news, I STILL think I have the file you want, but my DVD-Ram (writeable dvds + and - R type) refuses to work.

I sorta figured this as I have been fighting with it for the last few days, each day trying something different.

Today was my last attempt, I went out and spent $6 on a cd/dvd cleaner disk with alcohol and a special fiber pad on one section to clean the laser heads...

No luck.  ANY disk that I have created, will sometimes allow me to see the main, root folder, and sub-folder names, but I am unable to actually copy anything off, or read whatever may be in the various sub-folders.  The drive will read 2 purchased cd's, I mean professionally created stuff, like a music cd, and one for installing cisco training software, but it will NOT read anything that I have burned myself.

I think it is due to the bad power supply, that is likely not supplying enough negative 5 or negative 12 volts, whichever the lasers need...

Sorry, this "project" will have to wait until I can get a new pc.
