Me too. The emerald one took no effort at all, as the texture was used as is 4x1 column texture. Looking at it this morning I can't believe I made that half-asleep last night. The other I had to combine 4 images to get that hue mix, but it was obviously worth it. I'm debating whether or not to make them partially transparent, or leave them opaque. Either way, that will require a crystalline env map.

I forgot to make the ruby seamless. This morning I put together three more textures, but also forgot to make those seamless. They include: white quartz with a blue shine, blue quartz, and magenta amethyst.

I'd like to find a suitable dark emerald, and a bright yellow that isn't simply transparent. I have a bunch of gem and mineral books, so maybe I'll just take pictures out of that and use them instead of having to hunt the internet.

If variety is the spice of life, think of this as underdark curry.

Kind of like a psychedelic giant's causeway really.

Would anybody use a higher poly override model and texture for the OC mushrooms and mushroom groups (not including the 1.69 stuff)? Looking at these pitiful blue, yellow, and gray mushrooms with no body, and terrible shading, makes me puke in my mouth a bit, especially when I see them side by side with the OC mushrooms from higher expansion packs, like the reds and grays. If not overrides, I'll have to introduce them as new ones anyway.

Also, just so you know that isn't the only crystal shape I'm working on. I'm also doing groups of the following:

  • four sided crystal coming to a pyramidal point, with a little bit of width growth from base to tip.

  • six sided crystal coming to a pyramidal point, but sheared off, so that the three sided faces at the tip become five sided, also with slight width growth from base to tip.

  • six sided crystal where three of the edges are less pronounced than the others, making it look almost like a 3-sided crystal. This one has a high length to width ratio, and also comes to a sheared point.

It would be easy to get carried away, as I did with the crystal balls I did last year, but I don't intend to just keep going with crystals, especially since I have all the speleothems to do.

I'll find a use for whatever you're happy to release.

Had to log on just to give them mushrooms a like.  '' How big are they though, compared to a PC?

Just my opinion, but I think Morrowind's mushrooms look very neat and fit an underdark setting perfectly.

The tall one is about 6m tall right now. I have the scale on the rest not yet determined. Everything you see in that one is going to have a few varieties each, like a nub poking out of the ground, a growing version, and a fully grown and opened version. Then, each of those will have three more varieties of pose, so they don't look too uniform. That should make some realistic mushroom clusters.

When done, the largest mushrooms will have fully open varieties in the 7.5-10m range, for use as forest parts.

Did that project ever get finished, I can't find it on the vault with the search.

This time with scale grid, and purple box for human scale.

Try the February 2013 ccc (aka Plants ccc). Shemsu did some. Also the May 2015 ccc (aka World of the Elder Scrolls ccc) PHoD had that entry.
