Back in my Pencil & Paper D&D days, my campaign world had a variety of weak cousins to dragons that sometimes hunted in packs. They were intended to enable low to mid level groups of PCs to fight "dragons" without an immediate party wipe.
Years later, with NWN and improving model making skills, I decided to bring these beings into my PW. I consolidated the multiple types down to a single, more beastial one, then got to work.
The drake (Aenean Drake) is a dangerous predator. A wingless, distant cousin to true dragons, these creatures hunt in packs, much like wolves, to bring down more, and sometimes bigger, prey.
To keep with the wolf-like theme, I based the new model on the animations and general shape of the NWN dire wolf. I used modified pieces of hardpoints' fang dragon and its textures to make them reptilian and fearsome, then added yellow eyes that glow in the dark for that final touch. I ended up with just what I'd been envisioning...and from the screenshots, something I could envision as a "cuddly pet" to one of PLUSH HYENA of DOOM's characters.
