Custom Content Challenge: October 2015: Adults Only

The theme for this month's challenge: "Adults Only":

  

Adults Only:  Have a challenge based on sexual subjects, nudity, and general erotic content.

 

This theme was suggested by Shemsu-Heru.

 

Guidelines:

It must be fully working in game.

Use of vanilla NWN or publicly available texture is fine.  Just remember that NWN textures must have dimensions in powers of 2 (2, 4, 8, 16, 32, etc.).

Teamwork is welcome.

Beginners most welcome. Don't be afraid, just try, you'll be surprised!

"Custom Content" includes many sorts of things: models, scripts, prefabs (areas, items, creatures, conversations, quests, etc.), sounds, portraits, or anything else new for the game.

All submissions must be finished, working, and emailed to NWNCCCMakers@gmail.com (or a non-Vault link provided) by November 1st, 2015. Sooner than that is perfectly fine too. ;-)

 

 

Somethings you could include in the download/email that would make packaging everything up easier and faster:

2da lines needed.

Screenshot from in game for use on the vault page (this also gives me hints on how to display the new goodie). Formats: .bmp, .jpg, .png, or .tga

Portraits (if needed) of your new goodie. Placeables and monsters should include a portrait.

Inventory icons (if needed) of your new goodie.

Any credits you would like listed.

If this is your first entry, please tell me what name you would like your work listed under and provide a link to your other NWN content if you want that displayed as well (the link bit is totally optional).

Also if you would like an invite to the CC Makers group, send Rolo Kipp a friend invite. The group is nothing spectacular, mostly just documentation on 2da lines.

 

Remember, the Challenge is all about fun, sharing, creativity, and surprise!

Finding inspiration material for this challenge shouldn't be difficult. So I'm not going to provide to much of them. I just have a suggestion:


There is a D20 manual; "Encyclopaedia Arcane: Nymphology", by "Mongoose Publishing"; Which fits completely with this topic, and could be a great source of inspiration:

I won't be taking part in this month's challenge. Not for any prudish reasons though. I do, do things other than NwN (Borderlands 2 atm & loving it) plus the nature of this challenge is such that I don't have the necessary technical skills as it all looks 3d (no I am not going to make any brothel posters). Some thoughts for those considering taking part this month.

1. One thing I have noticed in the description is that it doesn't specifically state that it exclusively applies to humans or anthropomorphic creatures. Mating Mammoths anyone?

   
2. Also, sexuality is mentioned. This word covers a wide area (fetishes, S&M etc.). This means any equipment associated with sex, should be fair game.

   
3. Bucket of cold water anyone?

   
4. New animations (no not that) such as for a real hair pulling, claws out cat fight between jealous rivals.

• New behaviours for some creatures; What about of satyrs, nymphs or succubi who try to seduce an opposite sex player character, instead of attack them directly...

A dude named Spoony just recently made a (semi-funny) vid talking about that Nymphology book: link (mildly NSFW, but just because of language and the general topic). He also made one about the Book of Erotic Fantasy earlier.

I'm not a modeler so I just put this out here as a suggestion for people who are.  G Rex has made a whole nice new set of body models, which I think Pstemarie is planning to (or has already) pulled into Q. It would be great if someone could produce nude and lingerie parts that work right and look right with these new base parts. Like the pieces from the ACAG hak. I could provide the renumbered parts from ACAG that I currently use if anyone is interested. I have them moved up to the 220+ sort of range to be out of the way of other content.

 

So yes, there are these things already, but many will likely be broken by these excellent new bodies...

Gunner's new bodies are an incredible piece of work to have available as a resource.  However, If anyone is going to be doing actual geometry work with them, check out the following things before proceeding:    

- Not sure if the female torsos are jiggly.  Could be wrong about that.

- Breasts (on my AMD card) show a line of shading mid-swell because of a slight modeling error in how the breast swells from the root to the tip.

- If you have access to 3DS Max, the ProOptimizer modifier could probably do a very good job bringing down the polycount while still retaining model integrity.

 

I'm working on a torso+pelvis only skin mesh right now.  Doing it like this avoids all the problems I can think of which involve skin mesh and animations/emotes.  It still looks a little weird in game for me.  Maybe it's because for this test I tried to color match to prostitute's very pale skin.  Maybe it's something with the modeling.  I don't know yet.  It needs a lot more work than it looks like in the screenshot.  One unexpected bonus is that because pelvic region of skin mesh is weighted for thigh bones as well as pelvis, the vulva appears to open as the legs do.

 

 

I might have to chuck this and go to something else if this doesn't wind up working right.  I'd love to hear what other participants are using for their base models.  

 

OFFER: If anyone is participating in the challenge this month and would like a symmetrical, non-skinmesh model ProOptimized (i.e. reduce the triangles in it), drop me a PM with a link to download that specific model only (I'm not going to hunt through haks) and what percent you want it chopped and I'll do my best to help you out with that.  Please include a non-plt skin if possible so I can make sure UV coordinates don't change too much during the process.  Weekend is busy but things should open up after 3-4 days.

Here is where I admit how intimidated I feel by the sheer talent in this community. So far, I've limited my contributions to pre-fabs because while my modeling skills are at best that of a 'notepad-modeling' and I'm quite comfortable with editing .2da files, I feel like a kindergartner when I see the fantastic art assets you folks have been giving us gratis for more than a decade.

 

Here's my dilemma: Using NWN Armoury, I've managed to re-size the large female human pelvis, thighs, biceps, and calves to approximate those of my favorite plus-side model Diva Bombshell a.k.a. Mikel Ruffinelli (Jenni Bombshell at the same site is a very close second favorite). I've devoted countless hours of trial & error and I've finally come up with proportions I've happy with. I've resized several outfits from CEP & Q and some work nicely while others don't (sex clothes work best, armour the worst). However, since this was done with NWN Armoury rather than GMAX there is a lot of clipping. I'm quite happy with the results as I'm willing to overlook the severe clipping (forearms & weapons inside hips & thighs) in return for watching those sashaying hips and thighs. Not everyone's cup of tea, but certainly mine.

 

I guess what I'm really asking, 'is there a minimum quality required for models?'

 

And for that matter, am I going to offend anyone with content that some will love and others will find disgusting?

I don't see why such content would be offensive, at least no more offensive than the rest of the challenge. Those could be alternative models for the large phenotype. People who don't like, don't have to use them as always....

@Grymlorde - All of this is my opinion, obviously.  To me the CCC is about drawing people just like you more deeply into the world of custom content and giving them a safe, judgement-free space to show off their work.  The goal is to help budding modders become better at what they do and for more experienced modders to challenge themselves.  If you genuinely put effort into making those pieces, then you have met what I sincerely hope is the only criteria we ever place on people who are just starting out.  Anything more is going to be the death of us, sooner or later.

 

And for that matter, am I going to offend anyone with content that some will love and others will find disgusting?

 

Make custom content for yourself.  If people wind up liking it, why that's just gravy on top the biscuits.
