Figured I should contribute something for a theme I helped come up with, so last night I whipped up some sceptres with large crystals in them, plus a couple made of bone with skulls, and today did up a bunch of chalices and some statuettes. A couple dozen models in all. Cheers!

Yes, that is a skull chalice, so you can drink your wine from the skull of your enemy.  ''

Oh, and also, I'll be including a file I use in my PW that replaces the default torch sound with a blank one, so that those chalices and such don't sound like they're on fire (since they are torch models).

Excellent! Any chance I can ask for a quick retex of a bloody skull chalice? I can do it myself, but I'd like to share with the class.

Are you looking for blood inside it (ready to drink), or simply red on the inside and dripped down a bit (like it's already been emptied)?

Outside... though I suspect either would be great.

Any chance for a cat's head for one of those statuettes? That way you've got 4 goddesses for the price of 2  '<img'> .

Have hit severed heads with a considerable array of bricks... or at least as considerable an array as I could be bothered with.

Getting them to stop sounding like burning torches, easy enough, getting them to drip emitter blood, easy enough, getting strands of danglymesh gore to behave, easy enough...

But there's still the ludicrous fact that they change size if characters of different sizes hold them. Somebody's head should not change size just because you cut it off and hand it to your friend who's three feet shorter than you...

As far as I know, other than going through the appearance 2da and resetting EVERY Creature's "weaponscale" setting to be identical - which would be more than slightly impractical for obvious reasons - there's just no way to resolve this.

With a beer mug, say, fine, different sizes of cup are known to exist, daggers, whatever, they can be different sizes. I just can't get over my irritation at HEADS THAT CHANGE SIZE...

So I threw them all away and stamped on them and called them horrible names. My feeling is that, at least by means of using the baseitems 2da and making them holdable items, Biological Objects of Manifestly Fixed Proportions cannot be done satisfactorily in NWN.

And I don't really like to put out content I'm in no way happy with at all. So, sorry, but no heads... Not that this should cripple anyone with absolutel horror since a stack of heads to wave about are hardly the most blisteringly USEFUL things anyway.

(I'll probably put them all on sharp sticks and just make them Placeables some time...)

Sorry.

Why not release them just for the human-sized races, with the note that smaller races are not supported due to the unsatisfactory results?  As a prop in a story-based module, I could see them as useful.

Couldn't this be overcome via scripting? OnAcquire (or whatnot. I've long since forgotten NWScript, and I'm too tired to check), GetRace. Based on the race, switch out the original head for the correctly sized one (which simply stays the right size in the hands of that race. If they hand it to someone of another race, the same script fires, and the right sized head is loaded in the new holder's hand.

Of course, my head may have changed size too, and I could be addled because of this. So, take that into consideration.

Frith5:- Hm... I had vaguely thought about a scripting kind of solution, but I don't think the scale of a model can be altered, or prevented from altering, via scripting - not at my rubbish level of ability anyway. But I hadn't thought of correlating scripts to differently scaled head models for each race... It might be viable...

But I certainly don't have the time at present (and definitely not by the end of this month that it already now is) to go mass producing ten or more versions of every head I did (since to be happy about it I'd have to have each head available for Gnoll, Sahuagin, Orcs, Goblins, any other species able to hold holdable objects as well as the base phenotypes) AND all the necessary scripts to deal with them all.

It may be feasible though, some time.

Maybe. I put it on my list of requests (along with a bloody skull chalice).

Eurgiga, we already sent our submissions in earlier since we never heard back from you about actually doing it.

No worries, I can send it in as an independent addition.
