Welcome back PHoD! Did you or FiFi --- I mean Natasha --- manage to acquire any parasites? My doctor tells me that I've become quite good at collecting them whenever I take the family there. In fact, I am much better than my wife (she's the Indian) is and my daughter is getting better at it. Whereas my son has such an extensive collection of local flora and fauna, there must not be any room for the Indian variety.

Parasites of that kind tend to congregate around their human hosts... The three of us spent four months in a remote area of a remote forest in a remote part of India without the slightest sight of any human presence. Bliss. So mostly our parasite concerns - aside from the ceaseless battles against the Evil Atomic Monster Death Hell Mosquitoes of Doom - were merely with the profuse and comprehensive selections of Leeches... Came back anaemic, but with three notebooks full of interesting observations upon haemovorous annelids.

Oh, and about those saris we're both so fond of and which I still can't model worth a damn...

My current efforts at expanding Maldrapur's wardrobe have got thus far:-

Talia.jpg

Queen Talia, from KotOR II, standing mortified in Gmax, watching me coming at her with a big brick. With intent.

As you may or may not have noticed, I'm using her head model for Maharani Apsarvati anyway - the lady in purple who turns up with Kali in some of the Maldrapur screenshots (see above) - so simply converting all of her into a skinmesh Creature model over the standard NWN a_fa model would be easy enough. Then she'd just need a retexture to give her the purple of Maldrapur's ruling family and a darker skin tone.

Though it doesn't really look anything much like a sari, I always thought there was something vaguely Indian about Talia's gown thing. The trouble is, what I really want to do is convert it to a robe model so that anyone can wear one. So long as they're a woman, anyway. But to make it a robe means removing Talia's head and because her head veil merges seamlessly with the rest of the gown, it makes for a lot of cutting things in half and then spending millions of years sewing all the sundered verts back together so as to remove glaring holes and not have extraneous bits of veil and collar flapping argulantly about... But it's a start!

(If I do get it working nicely as a robe, the head veil thing will become just the body area (cream coloured bits) folded down round the neck as a sort of decorative shawl thing, which should look nice and also help me hide the hole at the neck). Might also redo the texture with some genuine Indian silk patterns, if I can bear the thought of the intricate channel shading for the PLT that such would require...

DTmace1.jpg

Since she gets slightly carried away and identifies more or less everyone and everything as "Spleens", it's best to keep well away from Lucirath when she's testing new weapons... or at any time really...

Not that Luce would generally use anything as inelegant as a lumpy Giant Mutant Mace, you understand; anyway, point is, I need huge crushing weapons for a few pathologically unsightly NPC Spleens to wave about (like it's going to stop Luce pushing their hideous, slimy faces in) and so I've been hitting with bricks some enormous maces and clubs... Currently they're just stuffed into the GreatAxe model as extra slots, given that the GreatAxe animations are fine for MegaMaces or UltraClubs - or whatever stupid thing you want to call them.

Obviously the GreatAxe weapon emitters look wrong on a club with no axe blades, but since the Spleens I want these weapons for don't have arcane weapons, that doesn't bother me.

But I've still been vaguely pondering whether there's any point whatsoever in actually making a completely new weapon type for these humongous things?

Has anyone already created a Farcically Vast Club weapon class without me noticing? Is there any real need for one, since, as mentioned, they work fine as GreatAxe additions other than that the acid, fire, etc glows look a bit completely different other shaped?

Does anyone but me even WANT immense maces and clubs?

Reminds me of the heavy mace used by Bhima, one of the Pandava brothers:

Right... I've got about ten of these stupidly enormous mace-oids, ranging from very ornate, spiky things to just noxiously crude and lumpy Massive Stone Cudgels TM, suitable for Profoundly Ugly and Moronic Giants, Diseased Yetis - it really maybe could have been a Yeti, you know - and I probably won't be adding any more for my own benefit. But approximately ten is probably sufficient to merit me throwing them on the Vault in a tatty hessian sack. (Bit low on the old "Big Boxes" at present).

I shall be leaving them as additions to the Greataxe class since this allows you to use feats with them, even if the feats say "Weapon Focus - Greataxe" instead of "Weapon Focus - Gigantic Lumpy Mace Article of Pathologically Ludicrous Dimensions". It also saves messing about with BaseItems 2da etc. The ONLY reason, really, to add a new class for these would be to create new FX emitters that were more club shaped than axe shaped but since these maces vary in shape rather a lot from each other, it still wouldn't work very well anyway.

Besides, these are the sort of weapons only Colossal Gargantuas who love crushing everybody to a paste use and when you can crush somebody to a mangled paste with a single blow, you're not likely to be bothered farting about with a load of airy-fairy, namby-pamby, niminy-piminy arcane rubbish. These are the sort of weapons minor villains in John Carpenter films are equipped with.

So, busy as Natasha and I are at present, spending most of our time being stuck to a nascent ten foot sabretooth nightmare by epoxy resin that refuses to set properly, I won't promise anything, but the lumpy whatnots should be on the Vault in the next few days.

It's ever more difficult to try doing anything on the internet when you don't actually have your own internet connection.

(Grymlorde:- You read my mind... There will be assorted "Hindu" weapons including proper Trishulas and stuff in the third massive update to the Kali Vault page - whenever I get a chance to actually work on any of my larger NWN projects again... Those Dinosaurs, for instance...)

Added enlarged versions of the Athas Maces that Shem did for the Dark Sun CC (gracias, amigo)...

Now just stuffing stupidly immense Greatmace things in a very grotty, moth-eaten sack with lots of holes in it. These huge maces are, by the way, extremely useful for squashing evil Sack-Eating Moths (Mothus rubbishopterus). Obviously, using such a weapon to squash a nasty little moth as it nibbles holes in your favourite fabric may result in minor blemishes to the furniture for which PHoD accepts absolutely no liability whatsoever.

DTmace5.jpg

The maces, carefully inflated to farcical proportions with the handy airpump provided, are all randomly stuck in my Greataxe list in between other things, so I'm renaming everything a bit for the Vault Hak to make it a bit more logical and easier for you to find the damn things.

Sorry - thoroughly entangled and rushed off my feet at the moment... Yes, simultaneously; is there no limit to my fund of utterly worthless skills of no use whatsoever to animal, vegetable or mineral?

Anyway - hopefully should have time to throw the MegaMaces at the Vault later today. And even if I miss, they ought to land close by in the bushes somewhere... Just obtain a good sniffer dog...

I like all these giant weapons. They look like they'd be fun to hit stuff with.

Because sometimes you need MORE than just a Big Brick...

http://neverwinterva.../phod-megamaces

These ten Porcupines on Sticks NOW available for you to crush things to unrecognizable pastes with!

(No further in-game pictures 'cause when I asked Luce to hold the enormous stone club she inferred that only Diseased Yetis would wield such a thing and then made reference to raw Hellfire and then... I ran away.)
