The Akral, savage swarm creatures whose "social structure" is analogous to ants... Monstrous, genocidal, twenty foot, killer, mutant, Spleen Ants with fangs that can shred iron...

Akral.jpg

As with Ants, there is considerable structural diversity between the different types in the Hive. Above are Soldiers, there are also Drones and the more than slightly colossal (and exceedingly ugly) egg-laying Queen Progenitor. By chance, I discovered a screenshot showing the forty foot high egg-layer was already on my Doctor Who thread amongst assorted piles of other things, so I've reused it below. All the types, including those not shown, will be in the Hak.

PHoDDW01.jpg

I would say the Akral, a savage hive species, were the equivalent of the Alien in Demoness Tales, but since the Aliens ARE in Demoness Tales I'll just... not bother.

With any luck, the next post should be to point at the Vault and shriek "Ooh, look, Spleens!"

Alright, alright, here's another Spleen already...

Gigan1.jpg

Absolutely nothing to do with the cyborg kaiju of the same name that Gojira knocked the stuffing out of, more than once, this murky behemoth is called Gigan simply because whilst I was hitting it with a brick in gmax I named the scene "Gigan" with careless abandon just because it was BIG. And so the model name stayed Gigan...

There are almost no Dragons in the worlds of Demoness Tales and this lumbering juggernaut was primarily used as a Jida'zakuna, an Eater of Spirit Armies, one of a number of freak aberrations that arose following the Time of Sundering which is all far too complicated to explain here. And anyway, it's irrelevant because obviously all these Spleens are for you to use for your own purposes with your own silly names appended to them. I mean, you can make them all noble and heroic if you want. They don't LOOK noble and heroic, of course, and you won't be fooling anyone that they're not Spleens biding their time before killing everyone into tiny pieces, but you can pretend...

Gigan2.jpg

Naturally, further rubbish has impinged upon my life in the continuing conspiracy of the entire universe to delay the purveyance of Hideous Spleens... but they'll fail, they'll fail!

I shall soon dispense Spleens! Very soon! Honestly! Really!

And the LAST (for the time being anyway) Daily Spleen...

Haiju'Ran, Lord of Chaos, Harbinger of the Reign of Beasts...

HaijuRan.jpg

A freakish Hybrid and an Obvious Twisted Sinister Fiend, Haiju'Ran arose from the shattering of the Crystals of Harmony which were very complicated and more than ordinarily unlikely and all that really matters is that a chaos of energies broke loose and manifested as a sort of indestructible mutant beast in weirdo samurai gear who keeps trying to destroy any and all things that are stable or in balance.

(Yes, the black and red banner IS part of the Spleen - the other one isn't.)

Just dealing with some rubbish here at the moment - then Spleens will be invading...

Apologies - Serious piles of rubbish have afflicted us and Fifi and I haven't been home for a few days and we're still running round in circles like a pair of circularly running things...

I did dig up a few more old Spleens and add them to the pile so there are 52 of them now.

Such as these Ghurra War Mounts, in the colours of the Kuridian Hegemony (who are all evil and thus count as Spleens), which I vaguely seem to recall I showed a couple of years ago in the Dark Sun CCC whilst discussing putting banners and rider on a Mekillot. (There's also a wild version of the Ghurra - a type of noxiously aggressive, armoured giant ground sloth - without rider and banners.

Ghurra.jpg

Sorry for noxious delays. No time now, but I'll be back here tomorrow to present you all with a Big Box of Spleens.

I was wondering have you ever made a Squig? It seems like that would be an archetypal Spleen.

The Big Box of Spleens, as promised...

Finally stopped the Spleen Creatures from climbing back out and actually got the Big Box closed - with a little help from a friend...

PHoDsc2.jpg

Yes, finally, the Spleens are unleashed... Get your Big Box here...

rjshae - Squig? No idea what one is, but I can see one or two obvious animation difficulties in that image for one of my severely limited talents in that area. It looks about the size of a mouse, but I'll assume it's bigger. Might have a go at something of the sort some time... whenever "some time" may be...

Getting ever more entangled in assorted non-NWN projects at the moment. But still heaving bricks at KotOR geometry every so often. Not going fast (probably be faster if I worked on it more often), but I'm learning a lot of interesting new things about Tileset creation...

Mostly working on the Tombs of Korriban at the moment. Should be quite a useful catacombs kind've set and looks good in a wide variety of textures... but it smells of goats unpleasantly for reasons more or less unfathomable. Have had to fumigate gmax.

KorrCorr.jpg

More or less default textures...

For some reason, that picture reminds me of Morrowind.
