I think we should do some variations of santa clous (good one, undead, mass murderer, demon).

Demon variation was inspired by a movie where santa was cursed to be good for thouzand years. After that time he returned to his normal, demonic ,sociopathic self.

Playing around with a couple of old statues. I think that I have the textures about right but I would like some comments on them. Hint ignore the lack of detail in the models, it's just the textures.

Remember I am trying to make these into ice sculptures by re-texturing them. So what do you think. This is my first go at this sort of thing.

I guess this could also fall under the "Why so serious?" category. But how about the Island of Misfit Toys and anything else from the old Rankin and Bass animated Christmas specials. Lots of cool villains and scenery.

Someone could modify this old chestnut of mine and turn it into "Elf Bowling"... https://onedrive.liv...AC3D74AA04B!113

First a few more ideas -

  • Some decent candles that actually work properly. I tried the ideas in that recent thread but they didn't work for me. I either had candles that didn't cast any light or candles that cast light even when extinguished.

  • Extending the above. A range of fancy candles. Some ritual, some ornamental, some celebratory, some made from various coloured wax and/or some that have differently coloured flames/light.

  • Evergreen wreaths.

  • Evergreen swags.

Secondly, if anyone's interested, I can let them have the textures (9 in all - 512 x 512 32 bit) that I have developed for my statue idea. These should suit ice creatures such as ice golems, etc. as well as any ice sculptures anyone wants to make. The icy colours of them are -

  • cyan

  • blue

  • green

  • orange

  • purple

  • red

  • white

  • yellow

  • rainbow i.e. some of the above colours in bands on a different pattern of markings

I might do a few frost warrior creatures, or some winter elves (from an old campaign I ran back in early 2000). I'd definitely like to do some more ice weapons and other items. I live crystalline ice, and can't get enough of it. I may also release some foliage for iced over spruces. I got some great shots after a huge ice storm (the one that took out Lansing Michigan last year), and from the year previous which killed many of our Arborvitae trees.

How about some Architectural Structures? did anyone mention this yet? maybe Ice Pillars, Ceilings, Frozen Benches, Beds, Frozen Stone Desks, Amoires, or just a regular Interior? maybe like Aurils Ice Temple from Icewindale 2, a sort of "Cathedral-esque" style temple made entirely of ice.

Auril Front gate: rather small, but it was the only one i could find that was complete

And hallways:

i dont expect much to come from it, and id say even a simple castle interior re texture would work quite well also. If i knew how to work tile sets id definitely pick up the mantle, but if i did now i wouldn't make the deadline. the Auril Ice Temple has alot of detail, and i would be only looking for bare bone basics

How about theatre dressing? Here are a couple of pictures of Victorian mechanical Christmas cards.

These show the principles involved (i.e. flat painted shapes at the side of the stage).

I loved the Aurilite temple and frozen zoo. The ice trolls were awesome too!

I agree they did such a great job on detail on the game overall. I remember when i first played Icewindale II i was like "meh! graphics are okay, its hard to see what is what" then i got to here and it blew me away.

I really cant see anyone doing this for the proposed challenge timeline, Aurils Temple is very detailed and each room is uniquely different looking than the next.

If we could get frozen statues, or furniture that would be a good start. If no one does, i will make cep exclusive "frozen" furniture toward the end of the month

Still stumbling around with experimenting with ice textures and have come across something I didn't realise before. Not wanting to overwrite other peoples textures I have been using the top hak technique. I am only experimenting after all. It seems that NwN is sensitive to file type in these circumstances. I had tga textures in the top hak while the original files were dds. Even though the names were the same it was the dds ones which were getting displayed. I quickly realised what was going on and sure enough changing my textures to dds fixed it. To my mind this is not logical (captain) but there you have it.
