Hello Carcerian,

1st: Thanks for presenting a workaround for Gmax!

2nd: Just a general question: Do you know, if this also works for win 7, 8.x?

In the event that these ever go down too, I have the installer backed up in multiple locations. Just ask.

Thanks, but did anyone try it with win 8.1? (I run win 7 and had Gmax installed, when the registration process was still working. But I heard of troubles for win 8.1 - that's why I ask. And there may come the time to switch...)

Just a little trick, that can be helpful. If you are reinstalling GMax after a crash or on a new computer, you probably have noted that when you reuse your previous registration code, the program refuses to cooperate. But wait... No need to redo all the turbosquid tedious inscription process. Simply modifying your computer time/calendar to the previous installation time frame (something like a month period is accepted) you can reinstall Gmax. After that don't forget to re-modify your calendar/time anew.

One little annoyance to note, especially if you are on a dual (or more) boot PC, is that apparently you can only have one physical copy of gmax anywhere on a single PC.
