I don't think so; I'm sorry but the Hebi-No-Onna Is not enough interesting to me in order to continue working with her, Also I'm quite busy this month, and there is another stuff in which I would rather spent my free time.

Maybe you could be interested in doing that? I could send you my files, in order that you could make your own variations?....

As far as I know I have finished the trap/trick I described earlier in this thread. However I would appreciate some feedback on it and its associated notes before I submit it. If someone would like to look over the test module and notes and let me know what they think I would appreciate it. To do so please pm me and I will give you an address to be able to download it. One little note about the test module. I have used the ctp_common and ctp gothic interior haks for it. When it is ready for submission I will put the relevant bits into an erf.

Thank you in advance.

Crimson bones WIP

CBwip_zps2b81cda6.png

Planing to do:

Smaller emmiters (Blood drops)

Darker blood on bones

More dead eyes

Looks great! I recommend giving it the R blood color in the 2da, so it'll spurt blood when it's hit/killed. '<img'>

The Blood elemental reskin of AD's classic water elemental currently looks like:

I guess I need to figure out what to do for a portrait for it next.   That pic doesn't capture the red blood emitter splashing around, but you've seen the source if you've seen AD's water elemental.

While I was messing with the model, I made a couple more variants.  First, I tried a shadowy version.  It looks useable, and the little pixelated shadows splashing around it still "work", but don't fit any particular cannon monster I'm aware of.    I also made a Sewer Thing variant by swapping in the appropriate BW sewer water texture (AD's original referenced the city water texture, I think) and adjusting the emitters again.   Anyway, some pics for those follow and I can include them if they interest anyone;  I'm not sure they're appropriate as they're inspired more by the model's potential than by any particular Ravenloft source.   I *did* also try a lava variant with one of the BW Dungeon lava textures but I didn't like where that experiment went and so it has been relegated to the scrap heap now.

Shadgouy i think that this water elemental hould make great (legless) maggot golem, just change texture and add splat effect.

Could somebody point me to a quality crawling corpse model? I don't feel like making my own at the moment, but I would like to modify one '<img'>

I always liked the zombie crawlers in Dungeon Siege I. Can't find an image though... >.<

That's a cool idea if I can find a texture I like.   I'll poke around a bit.

Exactly what I am going for. I'd also like to do a faster one and maybe use the DS1 fish monster.

Here is a quick moving maggot texture I put together. Anything larger quality than this seems to crash my toolset.

Thank you sir - I am also a fan of your work (I like fiends, too) !

I've tried that out and like the work you did, but I don't think it works due to scale.  The texture used by the models is only 64x64, and as a drop in replacement for the water textures that doesn't end up looking like a big swarm of maggots.  It's a cool texture, I just have limited skills (I do my work in Wordpad, lol), so I don't know if there's a way to scale the texture down while keeping the model the same size so that the squirmy little buggers look maggot sized.   (Advice/pointers are always welcome if you think there's a way to pursue that, or some other approach).  At the moment, it looks like an exotic Mummy Blob with animated wrappings.

I also tried a (non-animated) version using the Elder Brain texture from the illithid tileset, but it suffers the same problem.  The scale ain't right.  Please jump in if I"m missing something obvious, or just need to do some learning and homework (pointers welcome).

If the maggot texture is pretty much seamless, it's easy enough in gmax to get it to tile better on the model instead of stretching out. One of the uvw map modifiers...can't remember off-hand if it's "unwrap uvw" or just "uvw" or what...but it's something like that. Put the modifier on it, then go through the bulleted options until you find the one you like.

So, you like those non-technical and kind of vague directions? That's what you get from someone not actually trained to use modelling software. '<img'>

Link me the model you want to use, at the scale you want to use it, and I will link you back a retextured version using the planar maggot mess. At that point you should be able to substitute any planar texture of similar size, like worms, or brains, or sewer water. I have some time tonight if you are interested.

In the meantime, feel free to further disgust yourself with these darker and seamless larvae.
