I have already made a portrait of Koschei.

I am realy bad at modeling so there wont be any creature model (not needed, just maybe head model)

Edit: Screenshot  kosch_zps8b16f71f.png

Took from cover of this.

Edit2: Head model (Crownless - effect friendly)

Edit3: Needle + egg (Sry for needle, i tried to make some details[bad idea])

Nice work on the Lillend, Shem - is that my converted Neeshka's head you've altered? Looks good.

But Kali's boobs are bigger!

Anyway, before I become disrespectful to a Goddess who's wrath is best avoided, here's what's going on so far in terms of Kali's statues.

Tried an all over bronze metal look first but it was horrible. Even when I made it shiny, it was still horrible. So now she's got a stone texture intended to look as if it's been painted to resemble Kali's traditional dark blue skin. All her accoutrements are all overstatedly gold, barring the skulls, the base is... what the hell am I telling you this for having posted a bloody picture?! Rrrrrgh!

PHoDKaliStat.jpg

Two sizes, one same scale as the Creature model, the other nice and small so that you can put in inside shrines with low ceilings where the other one just won't fit.

Both put Kali into a more or less traditional Hindu dancing pose (with Balinese tendencies), surrounded by an equally traditional aureole of flames (I know they don't look very flame-like, but this thing's high-poly enough as it is without me getting all pedantic over stylized flames in Hindu art).

The sword and trident are traditional weapons of Kali, but her other most commonly wielded items in statuary, the severed head of an enemy held over a bowl catching the blood, just didn't work, no matter what I tried. Just kept looking silly AND necessitated two extra textures, so I gave up and just gave her some... some... some whatever those things are.

PS:- Pstemarie - Baba Yaga wouldn't last five seconds against Kali.

It have been made from Neeshka's head, but I have worked directly with NWN2 files. Yes your Kali have bigger boobs, maybe too big, don't offend, but it looks a little unrealistic; However my lillend is just an immortal dweller from chaotic good planes, she can't hope to compete with a goddess.....

I think that kali's boobs have right size (every woman in hundu art are heavily oversexualized [sexual acts are common too {One of their biggest temples have walls painted with pornogpaphic images}])

Aulmpiter is coming along nicely. Starting to look like he could take on Diablo.

PHoD, any chance of including just the altar without statue as well so we can use it to convey the staue coming to life and attacking? Also a statue without the altar would be nice for that effect '<img'>

I can do you an empty altar, no problem... I'm dealing with it.

But if you script the "Altar with Statue" to vanish and have an "Altar without Statue" appear in its place as Kali appears at a convenient waypoint just in front of it, I don't really see where an "Altarless Statue" is going to fit in.

What exactly were you thinking of? The same pose, just without the Altar, or a two-footed pose more like the Creature model would adopt? Or what?

PS:- Currently also doing a much simpler, lower-poly sort of generic Hindu Tantra Statue of a six armed-bloke sitting in the lotus position with his six arms in tantric positions to aid his meditation. How much meditation he's going to get done with Lucirath and Kali smashing Spleens to bits all round him, I do not know. Also, the whole "being made of stone" thing might not aid his mental processes any.

I'll include him with the Kali statues, if anyone wants him. (You can pretend he's Shiva or Vishnu or somebody).

I'd be fine with either, whichever you think looks best '<img'>

Good idea Kendaric, but i think that  we also need kali creature with statue textures.

Omfg, love the screenshots! Now I want to find a reason to use Kali... and Lillend too!

@Merricksdad... if you like making demons so much, what about a dynamic version of Balors or something? '<img'>

sounds like a good idea, except for these bits:

  • dynamic wings look horrible on these demons

  • turning them dynamic would need a new animation set, since these are using very specific creature animations that don't look good on f-type models

  • there are additional model nodes, above and beyond the 14 or so humanoid pc nodes, and would not accept a dynamic part, including:

  1. secondary neck node

  2.
  3. jaw node (could be omitted)

  4.
  5. secondary foot node (for dog heels)

Otherwise, yeah, dynamic everything would be a great idea. I've seen demon/devil/minotaur models where the bent heel was done as a single model part, rather than 2, and that might be useful on hooved legs, but I personally think it would look stupid on long clawed legs.

All that being said, doing them as varietal robe models with a few overlay bits for body part models would be something doable, and not at all difficult.

Something to think about in the future.

It's probably too late to mention now, but I would have loved to see some of the deities (or spirits e.g. the cat lord) from michael moorcock's eternal champion books. Arioch, Kwll, Rhynn or any of the others. OK I know there is next to no description of their appearance in the books but surely that gives you licence to post anything and claim that it is lord X or whatever. Well it was just a thought.

What about some dead gods, tileset corpses, floating in the astral plane, like Myrkul remains in MOTB NWN2?
