A few other random ideas.

Hand of Glory: The dried hand (often times the Left hand) of a hanged man.

Could also be used as the Hand of Vecna which is described as a severed left human hand, blackened and charred, with long, claw-like fingernails

Personally, I just want it as the mummified hand in Shadows of Undrentide.

Words of Power: there are 4 tablets containing "Words of power" in the Neverwinter OC (which I've been doing a 100% redux of for some time now...)

I could use a few tablets that have some awesome runic writing on them to pass for these words (And who couldn't use an awesome rune tablet in their own projects?)

Something like a smaller version of the Word Walls in Skyrim?

Using the skull off my modified skeletons hak, I came up with a cut crystal skull instead of a carved one.

cuw4r9X.png

Edit: I thought the poly size was a bit off for a cut skull, so I just changed all the back and top of the skull by simple edge tesselation. It looks much better now, so I made a sapphire, ruby and emerald variety. Over 120 orb thingies now. I don't think I will probably do any more. We're packing for camping and trying to get last minute stuff around. I'll package this and ship it to TAD after I get back, probably on the 20th, unless I come up with some more gems/orbs to do in the last week.

since my star ruby/sapphire idea seems to be a no-go, have this instead:

FCTLR0H.png

It is a tile from a set I made back in 2007. I scaled it down by half and enlarged the sacrificial table to account for the rescale. I also retextured it with one of the rock textures from my textures packs entry on the new vault.

In addition, I perfected the conversation script so it properly opens the associated gem container.

Again, these placeable-creature hybrids are made to accept only my gems and orbs. Any other offhand item placed on the stand will not display correctly, or at all, as it will be hidden inside the object, or strangely offset and rotated. I have NOT scripted in any type of checking to prevent anything other than my orbs and gems, because I assume people will be modifying these, and/or need to change the baseitem index of my items to fit their modules.

Edit:

Since I got the conversation script working, I am going to make the gem container spawn directly at the same point the gem/skull/orb will display, that way it doesn't look strange if you go to look at it or attack it.

Each placeable hybrid blueprint comes with a variable float which lets you tell it where it's z-offset is for the gem container object. If no value is specified, the value becomes 1 meter. This whole setup is not actually very useful now that the conversation script is working.

Edit Edit:

And here is my final on the orb of golden death. It comes either fully loaded, or fully empty. Each gem glows independently and is transparent and faceted just like the larger gems.

Love the crystal skulls!

(I did a version a bit ago for a gemstone recolor set as well...

...except it used a demi-lich skull that had embedded gems for eyes.)

(Merrick'sDad:- TXI for those Polyhedrons... They're just using BioWare's standard "ttr01_crystal01" texture and associated TXI, but with no transparency hint on the geometry).

And now, as I'm getting into some of the more complex things on the Demoness Tales list of Placeables I should have got round to years ago, here's a quick heap of basic, simple Orb things.

These whopping stone spheres are found dotted around the Midworld Realms in unlikely places, generally assumed to be relics of some lost, ancient civilization(s).

PHoDSpheroids1.jpg

Though usually completely dormant, these massive spherical monoliths can emit a baleful psychic field that can do very nasty things to the rubbery minds of lesser beings like humans. On the other hand, if you're a Demoness or a Goddess, you can stand next to them with impunity. This is useful for getting rubbish screenshots, if nothing else.

And so here's another pair of enormous globes.

PHoDSpheroids2.jpg

No. Pack it in. That's not what I meant by "pair of enormous globes". Just stop it.

And I don't want to hear anything about the inherent stress tolerances of the daft little supports as opposed to the evidently colossal weight of fifteen foot solid stone Orbs. They're arcane, see.

Next from PHoD, when I've finished dragging the textures out of the seaweed and hitting them with a R'lyeh brick... CTHULHU!

Obviously, the support is required to hold them down!

Or up, or... *referring to Globes, not the orbs... I mean... no wait.. oh dear, and now I've gone cross-eyed..."

Surprised the character doesn't fall over face first.

Depending on the gravity of the planar region, she'd just bounce back up and get stuck in a strange loop.

What? You mean I ever had one?

Readers of H.P Lovecraft need no introduction to this pungent abhorrence...

PHoDCthulhu.jpg

The Blatantly Murky PHoD Cthulhu statue, based as closely upon Lovecraft's descriptions of the statuettes in "Call of Cthulhu" as my rubbish gmax abilities allow. Except it's a bit bigger than the ones described in detail since I wanted it to be visible rather than a desk ornament.

I've been working on a Cthulhu creature model as well as some other Lovecraftian horrors for ages, but as they involve multiple skinmeshes and I have a limitless capacity to crap out skinmeshes just by looking at them, I'm progressing very slowly and carefully on that project. However, I thought I might as well do the Cthulhu statue, since it's an artefact, and add it to this month's heap of deranged PHoD whassnames...

PS:- She's a Goddess. She has Powers. She can therefore have any sort of profoundly outrageous bosom she likes without any adverse gravitic anomalies.

Mere words cannot begin to encompass the non-Euclidean horror I now witnessed, nor fathom my utter fascination, as I beheld the very essence of Cthulhu...

In Demoness Tales, the Sentinels are amongst the most powerful of the assorted defensive artefacts employed by both Hell and Heaven. Essentially focal nodes of the warding barriers that surround both the Infernal and Celestial Spheres, they have vast reserves of power and a wide variety of functions in both battle and other less easily definable activities.

It is therefore a bit rubbish that I haven't got round to making proper versions of them until now; versions that actually look a bit like the ones I've been drawing in the Demoness Tales comic strips for 25 years.

Firstly, the Infernal Sentinel...

PHoDSentinel01.jpg

Naturally, since Hell has far more aesthetic sense than Heaven and Demons actually know what the word "style" means, they make their artefacts look blatantly and awesomely "Hellish" so that just to behold them has their enemies dribbling with fear. If one of these Infernal Sentinels comes floating overhead, you KNOW there are going to be mass incinerations and such.

Though a Renegade who thinks more or less all the other Demons are Spleens of one sort or another, Lucirath still returns to Hell from time to time just to disobey every Infernal tenet there is and to tell them all how rubbish they are. Whilst there, she's not above manipulating the Sentinel devices in amusing ways to cause chaos for the mortal realms since she thinks most mortals are Spleens too. And all Celestials are Spleens, obviously. She thinks pretty much everything, everywhere, is a Spleen and thus needs trampling underhoof... Except dogs. She likes dogs - her own "dog" is semi-visible in the background.

The Infernal Sentinel has a glowing lava core, drawn directly from the firepits of Tartarus, and a surfeit of bright red Demonic runes all over every available part of the outer cage just so that everyone knows it's really dangerous and Infernal.

Unlike the Celestial Sentinel...

PHoDSentinel02.jpg

Boringly unmarked, like the majority of things created by the largely mindless drones of Heaven in their machine-like pursuit of their so-called True Path, the Celestial Sentinels have much the same function and duties as their Infernal counterparts, though their cores are drawn from The Crucible (the Soul Forge of Empyrean where the souls of mortals harvested by Angels are devoured by the High Gods in a decidedly unpleasant way).

I should point out that Zeriel (my Goddess) - Lucirath's spirit sister (how do a Demoness and a Goddess come to be "sisters"? - It's complicated) - does not tend to frequent Heaven, being an exiled Renegade as she is pure, noble and good and thus disgusted by Heaven's harvesting of mortals and their mindless Eternal War against Hell which causes so much devastation for all those in between, and which they keep losing anyway. Heaven's assassins are forever trying to kill her, forcing her into alliance with her deranged and psychotic sister from Hell.

But I thought she might as well stand beside the Celestial Sentinel anyway so that you can all add to your wonder at her prodigious bosom the fact that she also wears stiletto heels. Well, she's got to try to look as tall as she can when her "sister" is ten feet tall, or more with the horns.

Despite the fact that they often exasperate each other to no end, Lucirath and Zeriel can be a remarkably efficient power when they pool their resources and once, despite it being technically impossible outside the Infernal or Celestial Spheres, even managed to create a Replica Sentinel...

PHoDSentinel03.jpg

Built of wood, bits of string, pine cones, old pewter plates and whatever else was to hand, the Replica Sentinel they constructed to halt one of Heaven's most depraved attempts to devour an entire world, remains in their possession and, though it can be a little cantankerous at times, it is a source of great power - all the more remarkable for the fact that the two sisters, so different in their temperaments and natures, managed to stop winding each other up long enough to actually finish making it in the first place.

These Placeables may be of use to some of you for weird arcane devices of whatever sort you want them to be. The Infernal one has "Hell" written all over it, but the other two are more generic. They have built-in emitters, as you see them.

I'm considering also making Creature versions of the models since the Sentinels are supposed to hover about and do stuff from time to time. Not sure about that yet, though it's easy enough to do.

PHoD: It could just be the color combinations, but that "replica" one is actually my favorite of the three.

The Angelic one would make a good base for an Ophanim
