WIP Purple Worm

<rigging up the tackle...>

Big Purp,

Carcerian just *had* to open up that can of worms...

I just couldn't resist (though I'm really hard at work doing work-like work stuff and couldn't possibly have time to waste fishing).

PurpleWorm_001.jpg

Planning three skins (body, neck & head) and everything boned.

We'll see how I get on :-)

<popping some corn...>

Good luck with that ;-)

Here's a rough of the head showing scale (textures are barely even placeholders :-P )

A little bit of work on the side-flap mandibles (also boned ;-)...

I have to say that I love this already.

Do they make good pets?  By her casual stance, she seems to think so.  ':huh:'

<ambivalent about...>

I guess that all depends on how nasty you are and how little you smell like food :-)

That's my stock "Scale Dummy" I made a while back for checking sizes in Max. I guess I really should give her a texture...

Bobbit Worms basically are every D&D monster.

Any chance of a Sandworm redo? I've always needed a sandworm, but none of the worms on the Vault have that sort of version to them.

Heh nobody has ever done sandworms justice, in the novels they have crystal lightning teeth '<img'>

Tho have to admit, always loved Geiger's take on Dune Worms:

The RL Sandowrm is actually quite colorfull apparently...

The Sandworm aka King Ragworm (Alitta virens):

 An annelid worm that burrows in wet sand and mud. It is classified as a polychaete in the family Nereididae.

They have distinctive traits, including...

  • Often reaching great length, sometimes exceeding four feet

  • Numerous, highly vascularized parapodia [The parapodia function both as external gills (the animal’s primary respiratory surfaces), and as means of locomotion (appearing much like short legs)].

  • Sandworms eat seaweed and microorganisms.

<squirming...>

Yeah, eunice aphroditois (Bobbit Worm) was the inspiration, though I'm hoping for a more plated, rather than scaled texture.

If anyone want to collaborate, as usual, I'm all for it. Especially if someone wants to work on a good texture...

Moving my updates to Project Q where they belong ;-)

Does this mean you won't be releasing this as a stand alone?

<gets his inner...>

*All* my stuff is up for grabs always. You know that, 3 :-)

But I almost never just drop a model on the Vault.

They usually go in the CCC or Q or something.

Not sure why... probably because I get distracted so easily :-)

This is being built for the Q, but damned if I can think of any reason not to pack it up separate...

...Except I probably wont update any standalone. And things in Q *do* get updated...

IDK, you want it separate from Q?
