if someone would care to give a conversion from american cups to UK oz - they look tasty

TR

I can't mod so well, but I can bake just about anything.  Here you go --

14 ounces sweetened condensed milk (one can)

12 ounces semisweet chocolate, break into small pieces

1 ounce unsweetened chocolate

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 ounces whole roasted salted pistachios

3 ounces whole dried cranberries (or you can substitute with an ingredient of your preference)

1.5 ounces ground pistachios for dusting, optional

Directions:

Grease a baking pan, 8x8x2 inches. Line with parchment paper so that the paper overhangs two sides of the pan.

Stir the sweetened condensed milk and semisweet chocolate together in a microwave-safe 2 quart dish. Add the unsweetened chocolate and microwave at 100% for 1 minute; stir. Microwave again until chocolate is melted and mixture can be stirred smooth, about 2 minutes longer. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Fold in the whole pistachios and cranberries using a large rubber spatula. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and smooth the top of the candy with the spatula. Sprinkle the top with ground pistachios, if using.

Refrigerate until firm. Cut into 2-inch squares. Store in a container that seals air-tight. Package 6 pieces in small cellophane bags tied with ribbon for gift giving.

As soon as I can get some pistachios.  Maybe this weekend.  They'll last about two days around here I expect--maybe less.  We love chocolate in pretty much everything.  Having pork tenderloin mole this weekend.

Having a warped, filthy sense of humour and knowing what americans mean when they talk about a tenderloin district (in UK it is called a red light district), you do not want to know the image that popped into my mind when I read about your <pomposity warning> projected repast. Suffice to say it involved a very surprised looking small mammal with black fur... ''

Just kidding.

Up the road from here in San Francisco, PETA asked the mayor to change the name of the tenderloin district to the "tempeh district."  ''   Needless to say it didn't happen.

As for the origin of the name, gander at this.

Well, you learn something new every day.  I'd never heard of a tenderloin district.

Actually, I doubt it's just you.

Back when I worked in the film industry I recall more than one meeting with so-called directors and their attendant hordes of faceless production execs who shared a single well-worn brain cell between them. They would study our designs for Creatures and costumes (Fifi mostly did costume stuff) and they would ask the most dribblingly silly bastardic questions available, debate the cost of realizing the designs for weeks at a time and then spend one atosecond considering the actual LOOK of the designs before rejecting anything interesting or novel. Then they selected the design they were going actually put on screen by a method very little removed from closing their eyes and poking the tabletop with a stick.

Except one weirdo who, after many meetings and paper shufflings, would invariably just choose whichever design had the most stains from the undersides of teacups on it.

Don't imagine artistic integrity tempered slightly by fabrication costs has anything to do with film design.

I've seen those tokers chortling at designs before falling off their seats with improbable velocity. (I believe in that instance the design was chosen on the basis of how quickly it dislodged the derelict junkie so-called production team from their seats).

(Oh, and yes, very nice designs (whatever they were for). Elegant and semi-simple and I even like the colour scheme. Robes; who's good at robes around here?)

Oh, so thaat's why most big productions have such utterly bland and forgettable designs? Just close yours eyes and pick the first one the stick pokes, I'm glad to know those are the guys making all the decisions! '' (And also why I'd never, ever, ever pursue a job in the art field..)

First link of the year and a hint for miniature tilesets (ie think model village not lacking in tile numbers). From this guys perspective everything is miniature.

Got three Ankylosaurs (two Nodosaurids, one Ankylosaurid) done so far, though they still need a bit of polishing up... Mostly concerned with the other major branch of the Thyreophora at present, the Stegosaurs...

(And I suppose there's the Scelidosaurus too, which is a basal Thyreophoran and thus a sort of Ankylosaur in the making... and which is actually finished).

Doable but with limitations is my guess.
