Realise I've had my turn already, but just throwing these out there ...

This ones meant to be wielded as a sword, (keyblade), but it is probably more appropriate as a two handed axe.

@Baaleos, I have planned for late next week to do some crystalline weapons. I want to get both a sword and an axe built out of glacial ice (an old-timey dragonlance classic Frostreaver). Maybe a mace with a wrapped green crystal. After that, early the next week, I have planned some epic wicked weapons. Some of your items shown above might fit into that category.

@CaveGnome, I found another icon I would like to try out as a phoenix staff. Not sure if it will be any better in the long run, but at least the design is sound enough to form a good 3d model from. Keep looking for a good drawing of that original rod though.

@Henesua, once I return to my animesh spell fx, maybe later in the summer, I could easily do a breaking glass effect.

@YeoldeFog, I'd like to discuss the held glasses and bottles a bit more. Could you give examples where you would use them. I'd like to do some, but I don't think the current animation series would make them very useful. For instance, neither the combat or non-combat stances would be all that great for use with people just standing around. If we had a custom duration emote, a held glass would be perfectly great looking. Maybe even add some drinking animation (without the potion model insert). Not sure if torch cut-in animations are any better. What do you think?

@rjshae, definitely a board with a spike in it. I also found a nice drawing of an ogre club with daggers jammed through it.

Merricks: Project Q have a Social Phenotype that basically raises the lower arm up a bit, making them -hold- mugs and stuff. I don't mean they should be used in combat, it's more of a flavor for the immersive roleplayers! '<img'>

I also think there is a drinking emote in the project q, without the potion bottle, but I'm not sure

Well, in that case, bar items could certainly be done as a category then. Do you know of a weapon type that looks best in that emote setup, or does the item need to be created as a VFX or backpack to make use of that?

Edit:

Is that the one by Tom_Banjo? I'm peeking at that one right now.

Going slowly, but I am equipping the tavern with a variety of drinks. So far, multiple colors of ale (with froth), black coffee, hot cocoa, multiple colored bottles, some full, some empty. This should just about fill the range for item type WBMUG tops 9-11

Project Q uses the social phenotype by tom banjo. It also has a waitress phenotype which allows the carrying of bar trays over the head. Bar trays are implemented as a torch in Q. I forget where Q put the mugs. I think they might be torches as well, but I can not recall that one.

I'll be kitting out a bar soon as well, so I will know more in the next week.

our Q Mugs shouldn't be torches, they're simply equipped one handed equipped objects, using a weaponwield entry of ****

The raised mug position is simply the default position for that phenotype.

The waitress phenotype has a number of animations removed (the idle stretch/yawn so that she doesn't do it with her tray equipped)

Mugs and bottled drinks are ready. You can find a new baseitems.2da packaged in the files.

Also note that the files have changed location suddenly, so get the new address off the top of page 1. I updated it there.

These mugs work with the item type entry found in Tom Banjo's Social Pheno 2.0, that being WBMUG. My mugs are located in top 9, colors 1-9. My bottles, jugs, and wine glasses are found in top 10, colors 1-8. As with other items, I have included blanks for mid and bottom, although I believe Tom's package already did that with slot 1 color 1.

Feel free to tweak the alpha on liquids and glass. I find these are a bit shiny for my custom world, but they look ok in vanilla. I've fixed the order of the children so the liquid should always be visible through the glass. However, the handle is not always visible through a bottle.

You can find all this stuff near the new bartender character in the module. He is using the keg for storage.

It's a very dry wine. That's why it doesn't spill. '^_^'

Joking, of course. It looks good--nice alpha transparency.

If I get back into doing animesh, I might try making a sloshing bottle animation specific to that pheno, but it might be too many frames for the file to handle. I also thought about danglymesh, but wasn't sure it would look good at all. More like some sick jello jigglers.

I might not release an item until way late today. I have an appointment with the Winter Soldier. If I do put something up, I might just put up the ice weapons I was going to finish next week. I spent a few minutes last night working on their textures. What you'll probably see tonight will be a battle axe, a longsword, and a rod.

Whoever has been donating to Rolo's (and other) work on the new vault, thank you VERY MUCH. I was able to finally upload and update some of my stuff to that vault. If you haven't checked out the new vault, please do @ http://neverwintervault.org/

Sorry I didn't release any weapons/items last night, but rest assured, at some point soon, I will be back in here again. Yesterday put me out a bit, and today is just too busy to start much. My dog is also barking her head off about how nice 55 seems to feel outside.

Merrick: Don't burn yourself out on this. What you have done is already on the list of awesome. Change it to "Weapon-a-week" and you don't need to feel the pressure. I'm sure -we- will be just as happy! '<img'>

Not pressured '<img'> But thanks for the concern. I do this because I enjoy it, and it keeps my brain sharp. I have 99% less garden to tend this year (down to just Alliums and American perennials), and I almost guarantee I will still have about 2 hours a day (except when camping) to work on models or scripts.

I was however thinking of renaming this forum "model a day" since the last bit I did was definitely not a set of weapons. I also wanted to poke a few trees out there that I made a few years ago, as well as some rocks. Because nobody can have too many tree varieties...or rocks '<img'> IMO anyway

That being said, I encourage anybody with even the slightest amount of skill in GMAX to join me. We can make this a group project! I'll make a water cooler model and we can all stand by it during break.
