Wings help or tutorial?
« on: January 28, 2014, 08:49:15 am »

I'm looking to add wings to a creature model that is not a dynamic racial phenotype.  I'm able to add the wings and get them to animate, however, the supermodel animations (in this case a_ba) are now ignored and the creature stands rigid like a statue while the wings do their stuff.

I searched our forums here and other Google searches to no avail for some guidance.  Is there an available tutorial or forum thread on addidng wings to creature models?  Thanks in advance.

Oh, and in case you're curious or interested....this is what I am trying to animate:

Did you add the wings via a "wings" node?  If so, did you change the MODELTYPE column in your appearance.2da file from "F" (full animations) to "FW" (full animations + wings)?

My other direction of thinking is that if you added the wings directly to the creature model itself, did the wings' supermodel/animations override the base creatures'?

Just what I could think of off the top of my head.

The last portion is what appears to have happened since the supermodel was set to a_ba but I did have the full set of wing animations tacked onto the model at the end (presumably overriding the base animations).  I do have the wings node with the wings bound to it.

I did not however modify the appearance.2da file as you noted.  I think that may be the biggest issue.  I will try that.  Thank you!

Thanks TAD! - the .2da fix was the issue.

The model looks very good! Reminds me a fighter of the Upper Planes, like an archon, or something...
