Racial 2da help
« on: January 05, 2014, 05:01:21 am »

I was hoping to get some help I have been working on this
all day. This is my first time editing 2das basically I would like to know If it’s
possible to only have humans as a selectable race during character creation? I
think I figured out how to edit the racial 2da but after that I’m not sure what
else I need to do to get this to work. Do I need to make edit a new tlk file? Basically
I made my changes then tried dropping it into my override that did not work,
then I tried putting into a Hak and that did not work. Not sure what else I
need to do or if this is even possible any direction on what I need to take
would be great.

Someone else can probably explain it better, but haks and overrides don't get called or loaded until after character creation. That's why you aren't seeing any results. I'm not sure if there is an easy feasible way to get around it that doesn't require some client side modification by the player, which is probably less than ideal. There was someone working on a launcher that would circumvent this behavior but I haven't heard anything on that in ages.
