               The Hyena Loony strikes again!

Presenting the not at all thrilling PHoD Klar. Given that the Klar is essentially just a weird bear with chitinous plates all over it, I just glued chitinous plates all over an unsuspecting bear when it had its back turned, distorted its features a bit to make it more "weird" and nailed some more chitinous plates on it for good measure. And then used bits of coral to texture it because that seemed a pleasingly irrational thing to do.

Having added this not very interesting but temptingly simple creature to my growing pile, I am now embarking upon the reasonably simple Crystal Spider and the not very simple at all Elemental Earth Drake. Also continuing to kick the stuffing out of an Athas Skybox which is now looking a bit less rubbish than it did to start with. Slightly.

Jenna - Some of my more than ordinarily obvious female clothing stuff is available on the Vault in the "Psycho Vixen Attire" pack... But I've added quite a bit of new stuff in "Demoness Tales" recently, so I really SHOULD get round to updating the Vault release some time... er... some time...

Whenever you get the time, that would be great. I know it would get some use.

You didn't think you'd get away without the mandatory PHoD Demoness this month, did you?

I'm afraid I've gone a bit wild with the Crystal Spider...
Though the 2E Dark Sun Crystal Spider illustration depicted it as being somewhat smooth, as I have need of a large Crystal Spider for the "Demoness Tales" Module I'm doing at present, I succumbed to temptation and went for a much bigger, spikier PHoDesque horror with massive crystalline spars jutting out from it all over the place. It's definitely more "Demoness Tales" than "Dark Sun", for which I duly apologize.
However, it IS still a Crystal Spider... So, if anyone wants it, despite its not at all Athas-like appearance, I'll still include it with the Tembo, etc...
(Note:- Demoness height considerably taller than Human; that Crystal Spider is likely bigger than you think it is!)

I'm still not absolutely, completely, totally certain about the texture. That was one concession to the Dark Sun Crystal Spider which was said to be mottled with assorted colours due to light refraction...
Mentioning light refraction, can anyone please advise me as to how the hell to get this thing to look really shiny and reflective (like the Gem Golems, etc). Because so far, no matter what I do, it just won't go all shiny. I can get any degree of transparency I want, but not the nice shininess...

Eh, I'll find use for it for the elemental spiders from the plane of earth

Might be the envmap that's doing it. What're the settings you've got in the 2da?

EDIT:

Kirre test!

'Posted
I'm happy with how the model is behaving with the new legs. However, the skin. Ugh. The skin. I cannot skin for anything

If anyone wants to take a shot at a full fledged Kirre, or just the skin, do not let my attempt stop you at all, I have a few backup plans that rely less on my well admited terrible skinning ability

               @Mecheon:
Great work with the Kirre. Thanks for doing that...

@PLUSH HYENA of DOOM:

I have learned this thanks to AD & Rolo during the arcane space challenge, For use it with my autonomes.

YOU need a 32bits TGA. If you work with GIMP. First in the color menu slect decompose, them chouse RGBA (RGB + alpha chanel). alpha chanel rules transparences and reflexion. You would optain a new picture in greyscales, with 4 layers, 3 for the RGB chanels, that you can ignore and one for the alpha chanel. You have to work in the Alpha layer. There Whine equals to none of reflexion, and black the maximun. Probably for your texture you only need the same gray tone to cover all, so choose a tone of grey that you consider a suitable reflexion. When it's OK chosse again in color menu recompose and choose RGBA. So you will optain a picture with some tramsparence. Expost it as a TGA without compression (You can convert it to a DDs later if you wish).
Finally in the entry of your creature in the apparence.2da in a column called ENVMAP must write "default".

BTW. Could consider to made an alternative version with a diferent tone in the texture, maybe pink is not a good camouflage in Athas.

Thanks for all of your work.

ATHAS SKYBOX - THE TWIN MOONS
'Posted
The twin moons occupy a fairly substantial amount of the southern face of the skybox, opposite to the sun.

This skybox is still a WIP... though the images did look better before they became squashed jpegs, there is still some work to be done. However, I thought I'd give an idea of how it's looking so far. As yet it has no day/night transitions, but, if you actually want to set a Module in Athas then a rubbish PHoD Athas Skybox is better than NO Athas Skybox, right?

ATHAS SKYBOX - EPONYMOUS STELLAR OBJECT
'Posted
(Or, to put it another way, the Dark Sun). This sits to the north of the Skybox on the assumption that, dark as it is, it's still the primary source of light (and Area lighting always comes from the north).
I've looked at as much DS artwork as I could find on the internet and, like everything else, the Dark Sun itself seems to alter appearance quite a bit. Mine may be looking just a bit too much like a colossal blob of levitating magma (and the clouds are outrageously rubbish at the moment, I know). Anyway, if anyone wants to point out any glaring inconsistencies with official DS material or whatever, now's your chance.

NOTE:- Crystal Spider texture is by no means final and I can happily make a sandy, deserty coloured one for the CCC even if I later decide to make my Demoness Tales version a totally different colour, which it likely will be as I need it to match the pallid crystals in its cavern.

Many thanks for the pointers on making the Aforementioned Arachnid Article shinier. I'll go and poke it with sticks some more, see what happens.
Work is also progressing on the Elemental Earth Drake.

@PLUSH HYENA of DOOM: Thanks a lot for the Athasian skies. The twin moons looks great. And That could be useful even for a "DUNE" (my favorite SCIFI novel) module....

I made 2 versions of the Their Kreen model. This model is based off of the Q model whith some modifications. Wasn't sure which one I liked better. I'm thinking to submit them both.

               Image isn't working, Dray

I will point out there are about 7 various different subspecies of kreen out there, though, so the more the merrier. I've tended to use Q's for the bigger subspecies

@Shemsu-Heru - do you mean that you've got a shai hulud model? ('^_^')

@Mecheon Don't forget that there are some thri kreen in the Spelljammer for Neverwinter Nights project as well.
