Familiar work begins
« Reply #15 on: June 16, 2013, 01:02:57 am »

               Ah yeah the staff or two hand sword would hit the familiar LOL thanks for the heads up. I just went off The Amethyst Dragon parrot from CCC might want to move the parrots too. I glad you told me before I got into to deep. I just finished the bats but I can move them over to the other shoulder. The wings are cutting into the body, I debating how to handle them I bent them in some right now but I could just cut them off and you prob. would not notice. I mess around with it some more.

               Looking at that bat there was something about the wings that didn't seem quite right to me (sorry). So I went off and found you a reference picture with a pipistrelle bat in an appropriate pose. Sitting/standing on a rounded object similar to a shoulder.

As you can see the wings aren't anywhere near as obvious as in your model. I hope this helps to cure the problem you said you had with the wings cutting into the woman's body.

               Thanks Tarot I keep working on it '<img'> can you get a an above picture of that? Look like I have to add the little claws the bat has, the base bat does not have them on it wings.

               Getting pictures from above of bats on the ground proved a lot harder. I'm afraid the following 2 are the best I could do. Unfortunately they are both of bats actually hanging on the side of trees. They do however show that when at rest the wings, being mostly (somewhat elastic) leathery skin, just fold into their sides. Anyway, here are the pictures.

               Keeping a sharp eye on this myself. With Henesua's Familiar package, and these additions, it'll work well together.

If someone could figure out a trigger to detect a familiar passing through and fire a conversation, that would do wonders! Even just detecting a familiar going through the trigger to do an area transition would be welcome.

FP!

               I'll be updating my familiar package within a month or so to work for a PW as well. One innocuous familiar replacements for each of the starting familiars. I'll try to add an equal number of specials and variations that must be found in game.

               Ok I finished rigging the bones for the cat skimesh I trying to super it to the panther but not all the animations are coming across(not even playing) it weird. Any idea out there? Look like I might have to do a full animation on the cat. Ugh. Just like my nwn2 deinonychus and then there still the toad and maybe two others from nwn2 ugh a lot of work. If anyone wants the gmax file for the cat to animate or figure how to get it to super to the panther animation correctly let me know. Thanks all ohh and I unlocked the animal companions too be nice to get a horse for the druid and ranger.

               <opening up...>

To supermodel the panther your *bones* need to have exactly the same names and structure as the panther objects. They need to also be in roughly the same orientation/position.

Then you need to be sure they are weighted to the skin properly (no more than 4 bones can affect any one vertex).

Edit: I'd be willing to at least troubleshoot the cat, though I don't think I have time to animate it :-(

               Yep did all that. Still no go. If you want to look over the gmax file of it all I can set it up here.
