CEP probelm
« on: April 14, 2013, 12:10:51 am »

I have loaded NWN on my new pc (WIndows 7) and it works well with the mods I have, except CEP modules. The modules lock up after character creation and before the 1st location.

ANy ideas on how to get it running?

Do the CEP modules list the version of CEP they use?  Some modules that use older versions (pre-2.1) will need older versions of the CEP haks.  You can find links to them ("older versions") at the CEP site.

You can have both the pre-2.1 and 2.4 versions of the haks installed, as they have different hak filenames and don't interfere with each other.

Also, make sure you put the CEP .tlk files in your NWN/tlk folder (and not in the hak folder).

Good luck!

If the module has a custom skill.2da that might causing the error. Try to hit premade character then select create character and see if that fixes your issue. More than likely it what Amethyst said.

Amethyst, they both use CEP 2.4. The tlk files are in the tlk folder. (I had to create it.) I also tried a pre-made character.

On a lark, ti looked in the error file and it says it did not load the door.mdl. I wonder if that is the problem. I wonder where I can find it.

               .....

Calling da BARRY... Calling da Barry.. hey hairy barry can ya hear Wendi!

I repeat!

"Can ya hear Wendi...!" over and

ah Wendi wendi you must know that you have to give me 100 dollar to make me tell you secret to da key using CEP because i have to pay the horny raindow castle guards of Barry mountain to let me sneak in... find info...sneak out and pay again horny Malishara!

Uff ya ye... makes me tired to talk about barry. I can write his name blind already with 2 finger system '<img'>

And on a serious note:

A door.mdl is a "door" model and should not have anything to do with character creation or do you wear a door?

You never know what they called their models. It was a good idea to check the log file. Just because a door model isn't used at character creation doesn't mean there is no model named door.mdl which can not be loaded.
On the other hand if there was an important model missing from one of the CEP haks, other people would have
had the same problem as Wendi.
Might be a hak file that got corrupted when being download or unpacked.
