I like to make my NWN look like Baldur's Gate '<img'>

'Image

So I made some 'Ust Natha' drow placeables for you guys. Hope you like them!

1x Rug
1x Bed
1x Armchair
2x Tables

PS: Does anyone have any advice for getting chairs working in-game? I can't get my pc to sit down on it at the right angle, unless I rotate the chair and export it again; but then the placeable no longer orients to the forward facing position. Maybe I just messed it up and should do it again?

I agree with Shemsu on the tile set, and good work on those placeables.

Great placeables HinnisPastry! Ahh, I remember Ust Natha well... And yes, a tileset looking similar will be magnific, but all of these alien and floating architecture is maybe too much effort to remade in NWN. But, for me Ust Natha is one of the few "true looking drow city" I have seen in videogames.

@MerricksDad: Just my thoughts! '<img'> Sadly, my computer crashes yesterday (a horrid thing with the battery of the mother board), Anyway I saved before the crash all of my content in the Underdark module, and I hope the next week the thing are fixed and I can go back to work...

I don't know if it's too late to request, but could we have more recolors of this? All items gold and all items purple to better mix or match?

               Just a few comment:

I know a lot of the 90's images of drow were black and white, or with little color, making the drow basically black. the 80's games and some of the 90's stuff made drow themselves a purple blue. Their description now is inky black, so I assume its like really really black (half lycan half vampire black, like in "underworld" movie) with a bluish hue in the shine. So really, we don't have any drow that look like drow. We just have drow that look like book cover drow so we can see their features.

Now for building stuff. I know the older stuff with all the purple faerie fire looks purple, but are the drow's only colors they can see purple? I bet not. Maybe we should be letting ambient and diffuse colors in an area color the tiles and placeables for us in the correct way. Make everything stone colored, or something the drow would be able to pick out as different colors. Clothing throughout the 2000's was mostly purple and black, but the new stuff coming out is really really black with mixtures of blood red, as well as more spider silk white and facepaints (not just Ebberon either.)

I personally like neutral colors, or just offset from earth tones. Then brighten with emitters, especially for tileset additions. Artwork through the 2000's had some great blue-green drow stuff, fungally lit underdark scenes, as well as non-purple drow attire.

May I also suggest anybody putting glow on drow eyes, especially mine which do not conform to standard elf height, either add emitters near the eyes right on the model, or modify the eye socket color in the texture to be really really high saturation, so even in darkness, the eye can be seen as colored. Note my pictures of the draegloth with the appearance of glowing eyes. That is NOT an emitter.

               @MerricksDad:
Personally I try to avoid pure black or closer colors for the Drow skin, preferring different tones of purple , deep blue, or grey Instead.
It's not logical that a race which spend most of their existence away from the sun rays could conserve a dark tone in their skin.....

               The Drow Snake Whip:
This is not my best work, but I didn't want to let pass this challenge without include such an iconic drow weapon. Don't misunderstand me the weapon works properly; However because of my lack of experience in animation and the use of skins, I couldn't do it looks better.
Please, if some skilful builder would had the intention to add a snake whip, don't left to do it for this.

There is two texture variations....

I think in FR lore, drow were cursed black. So its a permanent magical feature of their sub race. Of course one of the more recent authors undid that fact and set some of the drow back to different color. Seems like that whole part of the FR story has been erased since 4th ed though. Kinda confusing, either that or I missed a book somewhere. I do think there was a 1st edition creature catalog that came up with shadow elves, and they were black haired white skinned cave dwelling elves. I do personally prefer they way we are drawing them up for this CCC.

Edit:
and awesome whip by the way!

Cave dwellers end up white skinned, its a fact of nature. Check out olms or cave shrimp for key examples

Drow can probably blame curses, magic, or the Underdark being a terrible place, plus they may or may not have a bit of Svartalver (Black Elf, nordic phrase believed interchangeable with dwarf and dark elves) in 'em. They were the ones who made Fenrir's chains, hence probably mostly being interpreted as dwarf nowadays
