Finally some progress today. Here's drow08:wizardm1 without any accessories on. And with color comparison against purple rogue and red warrior.

The faces of the other drow show some detail while the face of the priest is so black that one can't even see if it has got a nose.

The priest or the wizard? I did darken the skin on the wizard, but I thought it was a bit dark. I had applied some shininess to the priestess' face and it seems to darken/lighten the opposite faces a bit much. I did the same on the wizard just now (after this pic was taken) and its a bit too shiny being that its darker than the rest of the drow. I need to half the entire mask on the wizard because the shiny cloak looks like metallic silk right now, pretty bad.

Sorry, I meant the wizard, not the priest.

ok, I'll definitely be toning his, er tone down a bit. Definitely too dark.

Edit: do-de-do, ok only about a week left, I better get a few more done and call it...

Planning on a red-robed wizard, maybe with some mantle armor instead of a cloak.  Then a more robe-like priestess. I'm skipping one of my other rogues. Then I should do another male, maybe in more full armor. I'd like it if I could at some point recreate the "War of the spider queen" journey.

Anybody know why an uncompiled skin would be able to use the loincloth and cloak nodes but a compiled one would not?

Edit: is this simply the compiler I am using not getting the correct supermodel?

@MerricksDad The quickest way to test if it is a problem with the compiler is to try a different one. Yea it's a pain, but if you can rule out the compiler you're one step closer to solving it.

I was reading up on some possibly related topics using NW Omnibus, which is where I got the compiler issue idea. I had been using the one that ships with nwmax, and then tried the one taken from MDA's website, posted as Torlak and updated by Rolo. For all I know they are the same, and output definitely seems to be. Which compiler do you all use to make the most of or your models. I thought I might try the compiled models for speed, and they really do load a bunch faster ingame. But if the on-model cloaks are faulty, then its no good to me.

Edit: maybe I will supermodel to my own external cloak patch file and then from there link to the p models. That might solve the compiled model issue without increasing model size or load time too much.

I personally use NwnMdlComp which I think is torlack's. The link in the html file certainly points to a website with torlack as part of it. I compile my feeble offerings (hey they're all just rectangular planes) for speed because I tend to use large (between 256x256 and 1024x1024) textures and NwN needs all the help I can give it ('^_^').

Early representation of drow09:Archmage. He's got a shadow issue to debug, but otherwise the model looks good in-game. Needs a bit more in the texture department.

Very good, Shemsu! This is one of my favourite illustrations of a drow. Anyway, the artist is Brom, not Lockwood.

               Kudos indeed...
Really very nice work Shemsu. I'd like to know how you capture such nuance upon the mesh. '<img'>
