New Building Placeable Imports
« Reply #195 on: February 15, 2014, 11:19:02 am »

KM I use my public folder on dropbox for hosting images (must be public folder to get the address). Also I use a different variation on the BBCode to display them -
(url=Full_Address_of_Image)(img)Full_Address_of_Image(/img)(/url)
- change the round brackets to square. This has the advantage that by clicking on the image you can actually download it if you choose.

Randomdays I am actually quite busy at the moment, sorting out a desktop PC so will get back to you later.

You'll need to have it uploaded to somewhere on the web. I've been using imageshack but they're going from free to pay soon, so I'll be switching. Maybe Photobucket would be good.

I use photobucket now.

Sending lots of ZT2 packs to Draygoth and Killmonger at the moment. Probably at least 70+ land, sea and air animals for them to play with

               Lol...

It seemed après po as I accelerated through my darkness into the second monolithic pile of critters.
(Also, to me, each animal mesh is like a "star" character for the Nwn drama)

ZT2 has similar but subtly different beasts (also textures) than WP2
They will require some study as to which to prefer.
<I expect I will setup my dropbox for pics...<Thanks for the tips folks

Soon as I get some time I will begin again at crafting skeletons (I'm not happy with the few created so far)
Is there a fast way to get geometric shapes to inherit the pivots of a given critter? I mean if I merge/replace some mesh the pivots get all replaced too...
Scaling works ok but there's a lot of polygons in the skeleton. Crafting bones from cylinders (etc) requires the careful alignment of all the pivots (aka time). Just asking, cause I want to fully process some of these soon (using the standard Nwn animations at first).
Standardized nomenclature and hierarchies of course.
I perceive 12 types of animation formats (Cloven, Feline, Hopping, Water-borne, 2 different hybrids etc etcetera)

Draygoth was herding the cats when last I knew

(yiikes...perhaps I will run out of fingers...)

Couldn't find my original Dark Age of Camelot disks so I downloaded the client and reinstalled the game. It use nif files with dds textures packed into mpk files. Working with the files, I had to convert to obj to get the texture assigned and back into nif format. Polycount looks close to NWN

Here's a link to the creatures in the game. Could be a good source of new items if there's no legal issues

Trying to connect Entelodon pic to site from Dropbox

<unsuccessfully>
TR> The final [/url] snippet of code above refers to which URL?
Also, in dropbox, to whom am I sharing the link. I get an "invalid" message...

Just love the learning curve...

Problem. You are not using your dropbox Public folder. You must use the Public folder to get it to work because the Photos one is geared for sharing (eg facebook, twitter etc).

Step 1 - put picture(s) in Public folder
Step 2 - highlight the row containing the picture information (do not click picture name but blank space after it)
Step 3 - Select the option to "copy public link" in the menu near the top of the page
step 4 - type (without the spaces) [ u r l = {paste address here} ][ img ]  {paste address here}
 [ /img ][ /url ]

and you will end up with an embedded picture like -

Thanks TR for spelling it out.
I didn't seem to have a "Public" folder, so I will restart from the beginning again very soon
<But RL duties may intercede today>

Rd> Took a look at the DAoC and they appear very interesting
(+1 for the Highlander and the flesh wight)

The Entelodon

'Image Thanks TR, got it

Dropbox, since Oct4 2012, no longer supplies a "Public Folder"
It has to be manually enabled through the Help index. <A tangent to the "curve" referred to above

Some interesting stuff in there, but not all of it of equal quality, some of them look more awkward than anything in original nwn. A short list of (non-human) stuff that's particularly caught my eye: Lizards, Worms, Huldu, Scrag, Knotty fellwood, Wolf Dragon,  Root monster, Seadog, Octonid, Stilter, Shrouder, Manta, Gryphons, Letus, Laculi, Whirlwind, Acid glob, Barracuda, Dreadshark, Octopoossy, Eel,  Tritons, Neids, Banshees and... Rabbits.

Not saying all of these should be imported, just ones that looked more interesting.

DAOC is actually older than NWN but some of the patches upgraded the nifs as time went on.

I haven't looked at the plants, rocks, weapons or buildings really but I think they are nifs as well.

Anyone wanting to try it out, you have to download the client from the official site and run it. The game will download on the harddrive and you can then run through the directories and check out the nifs.

I REALLY like some of the creatures in there. If you are up for suggestions I would start with some of the ones that are not yet represented in nwn like the Egyptian themed.
