CyberWorld Humanoid Creatures Hakpack

               Hey guys!

New comer here to the custom content creation for NWN1, I'm enrolled in a university class that brings multiple disiplines together, we form teams and then create mods. The goal of the class is to analyze and think critically about video games, while also trying to balance team dynamics and create an experience, we get a lot of awesome lectures, and the class brings in members from Bioware to give lectures every now and then. My team is creating a puzzle based game set in cyberworld, I can't really go much into detail as we are still developing. But, modding has always been a passion of mine and I know how certain content is hard to come by. I'm sure someone out there has been looking for cyberworldy looking guys. The course description and outline said nothing about releasing stuff to public,so I will make these guys avaible to you!

First off, big shoutout to OldTimeRadio who helped me get the variations to work, I followed his envmap retexture tutorial on his blog, but ran into a few problems which he helped me sort out. If you have any questions, feel free to ask '<img'>

Good job. These look appropriate, even if I don't like their head at all. That's probably intended though ^.^

D20 modern has some robotic creatures too (in the spirt of "Terminator"), but I've never really used them. What a robot fundamentally makes a robot to me is their mechanical motions. This means creating new animations, which in turn means a huge amount of work ahead.

I appreciate that you share them with us though, thank you.

I hope we get to hear more from the BW "projects" which seem to be running in Canadian universities like yours (or elsewhere). I remember a very original educational one about the American Civil War, which unfortunately never made it to the public (to my knowledge), or another  (Spanish project I believe) I'm following about the Conquest of America.

Thanks for the kind words. I agree with the head, I would of created something new, but considering the timeframe we have we opted out on learning more tools than needed. Within a month we had to have a vertical slice that our professor could review and give feedback to. And after that we had a couple of weeks to scramble for a beta. I was assigned to the artist position, and while it is a lot to undertake I am at the mercy of the nwn models and their uvs. The team wanted something androgynous, thus I went to something more creature/human like as who knows if it is a male or female. Initially I was trying to shoot for a more strong female protagonist , but ideas evolve over time. This was the first iteration of our PC, looking at  it now, it is merely an alpha test, but given what I have learnt with the previous pack I want to now push this further rather than let it sit and collect dust.

Those came out really nice, Aquil101!  The effect in that second shot is also nice...sort of a NWN meets TRON kind of effect.

Agreed. They look really good, Aquil101. Did you use the Bodak model for the robots?

Cheers for the comments! I updated the first post with the link to the description, later this week I will describe the process on how I got the shiny material to work and what inspired me to give it a try.

Rolo Kipp: One day I believe a broom of your own will do you good, darn rentals eh?
OldTimeRadio: Thanks again for all the help! I went a little obsessive with the alphas on that one. While it's great in less noise areas it gets a little confusing in more noisy areas/partly because of design and partly because I love a little too much technonoise.
GulfWulf: Thanks! You are indeed correct, they are the bodak models, I wanted to find a model that looks humanoid, but contained all the textures on a single map.
MerricksDad: Cheers!

Now that I think of it, you *were* flying a bit wobbly... <yup. nearly fell out of the sky i was laughing so hard *raven grin*>

Nice stuff going on here, thanks for sharing =)

@Nissa_red: Maybe were you refering to American Revolution instead of Civil war?
