Don't mind the red arm effect. I am playing around with OTR's big idea skin at the same time I am working on this.

Quite a bit of coolness going on here, very fun to watch!

I don't know why I didn't suggest this earlier in the month, but anyone going to try their hand at growing things?  Trees, pumpkins (maybe ones that don't look so much like basketballs with beating hearts, tho), etc...

AD, any chance of using fir tree foliage on that troll and maybe creating forest troll footprints? It's just that my warped sense of humour kicked in. Earlier today there was a quiz show on TV where one of the questions involved the US state named in honour of Queen Elizabeth the first. As I knew the answer this made me remember an ancient song that was a hit in the 1970's (I think). I then remembered your troll and that planted the idea in my head. The reason for the necessity for footprints is so that the beast can be trailed (alternative word for tracked). Now if that troll was to be the only one in an area with wooded mountains that look blue from a distance, it could be called lonesome and with fir foliage it would be a lonesome pine. Which brings me back to the song. It was by Laurel and Hardy. I can't remember the exact title but the first 2 lines explain it all.

"In the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia,"
"On the Trail of the Lonesome Pine"

Well, along those lines, I'm submitting enhanced versions of Lord Sullivan's Low-poly trees...

Although it's kinda fun to watch them shrink and grow when you click on them, mostly they're just designed to make one placeable do the job of three :-P

Later on, I'll animate the dying... "Tiiiiiiiiimmmmmberrrrrrrr!"

You could script:
- allergy effects based on a trigger, time of year, or environment
- changing of placeable trees from summer to autumn (if there's matching placeable models)
- a prefab plant conjuring item with a unique power that creates placeable trees or plant creatures at the targeted location
- a weapon with an on hit cast spell power that destroys any plant placeable it strikes
- a trigger script that applies a minor movement speed penalty for tall grasses
- a special scripted item that applies an "entangle" VFX to a targeted door's location and blocks the door so that it's both "locked" and "unpickable" (from the vines/leaves in the way)

Prefab idea:
- books with descriptions that tell about various real and fantasy plants

Because of werelynx's problem I have spent some time banging my head against the wall. I finally figured how to get baseitems.2da to work for me. So now there is a new category - Fungus and my icons are in it. I have sent the update in. Included in the 7zip are the hak, an erf and a ridiculously simple demo module.

ok, finally done enough. Sorry I got no more time for this one in the month, but at least its further along than last month's intended submission.

I just submitted this a bit ago, let me know if it makes it.

Some really cool stuff in this contest thread!

ShaDoOoW wrote...

btw Im not able to get my friend to make the icons for the spell I created, and I am no graphical artist myself so someone will have to take care of this, or I can replace current icons with some default unused ones, so they will not confuse players (atm these spells using icons already used by default spells)

I was hoping to put some simple placeables together in gmax for this, but stuff got in the way, so I did the needed spell icons, as requested above.

I guess this is my humble first contribution to a CCC here. '<img'>

(I may post them once I figure out how to post images here).

I always host my pics somewhere else (by uploading them to a image hosting site via my own forum), then I use the standard posting form, switch to BBCode (with the button in the menu), manually add the
[ img ] fullpicurl.jpg [ /img ]
code (without the spaces), then switch back to normal viewing mode with the same button.

This dumb forum automatically resizes images so that the largest dimension is only 540 pixels, so you may get better image quality by resizing the image yourself before uploading it.

And...welcome to the CCC!

@KlatchainCoffee, I personally use photobucket.com. Its easy to make uploads, especially for people like me new to making public images. You can then just click on the tools icon over any image and "get links". The bottom one that provides img tag code is just a click away and automatically copies to your clipboard the needed code. I can also attach photobucket to all my facebook crap and log in with a single click. I like simple

               Ok, here goes:

It works!  Thanks guys.  I'm more pleased with some of these than others, but hopefully they are fit for purpose.

Top row: Animate plants, Blight, Command Plant, Control Plant, Shamblers.

Bottom row: A couple of others I randomly came up with while making the rest.

@KlatchainCoffee those are very nice. One little tip is that I find you get best results if there is a 1 pixel surround of transparent pixels (at least for inventory icons and I'm guessing it will be the same for spell icons). If you want to colourise them you could do far worse than to use Greenfish Icon Editor Pro - yes you will need to convert the images to (preferably) png (it will process other formats just can't remember appropriate ones) and back to tga, but I think you'll find it worth it.
