I have recently come across a couple of interesting but specialised tools. As they are so specialised and Ben is Back (Yea), I have decided to post this out here and let the community decide if they are worth including in the stickied thread.
The first is a mini (in more ways than 1) graphics editor which in spite of its name may well be useful in certain circumstances. It is the
Greenfish Icon Editor. This actually handles things like layers, filters and transparancy. It will save images in png, pcx, gif and jpg formats as well as the more common icon formats.
The only drawback that I can see is that it appears to have an upper size limit of 1024 x 1024. Ooops my bad. The upper size limit is user definable.
The other tool is the
Greenfish Relief Map Generator 1.4. This randomly generates, on the fly, images that resemble relief maps including grid lines and place markers. These images can be saved to disk in bmp format. The place names can be randomly picked from a text file that you supply or can be generated randomly.
Hope this proves of use to someone.
