CEP 2.4 Self-Installer Help
« on: September 20, 2012, 04:41:57 am »

Has anyone worked with NSIS to create installers?  I've used it to make a basic installer to install the various non-CEP tileset haks used.  However, for players who don't have CEP, it can be complicated to download, extract, and then put all the files into the correct folders.  So, to ease this burden, I'd like to see a CEP 2.4 self-installer get created and uploaded to the Vault.

Essentially, what I think it should do is the following:
1)  Check to find the installed directory for NWN (if using the registry keys, there are 3 versions:  NWN, NWN Gold and NWN Diamond/Platinum)
2)  Check for a tlk folder subdirectory within the NWN directory and create one if it doesn't exist
3)  Install the CEP hak files into the hak folder
4)  Install the tlk file into the tlk folder

I quickly realized I was waaaay out of my depth to attempt this code, though I did find the registry keys for the versions and can supply them.

For someone with coding experience, this is probably fairly easy and would be a tremendous help to the community at-large.   There was a self-installer for an earlier version of CEP and I'm thinking now is time to do it again.

Anyone able to help create this?  I'll help as much as I can to support/test it.

Thanks!
